01-CLS Vs. 06 TrailBlazer SS AWD
Well I know a guy with a Trailblazer SS 06 AWD, with just an intake and catback. I just know him, I would not call him a freind. So anyways we just happen to be leaving base at the same time. We ended up getting on the freeway at the same time. So we go for it from about 40mph to about a 100. At least that were i shut it down. He crushed my CLS. I did not hold a candle to him. By the time I got to 90 or so he was at least 13 cars ahead. I thought I would do a little better than that, because of his weight. I knew I could not beat him. But oh well all in good fun. My few mods are in the sig.

Here's why you got your ass handed to you:
The bad news: 6.0L/395-hp*/400 lb-ft* OHV 16-valve V-8 / 14.2 sec @ 98.0 mph / 0-60 5.6 sec
No. You didn't have a chance in hell.
I don't care how big and slow a vehicle looks. Don't fuck with anything that has a 6.0 liter engine under the hood and FUNCTIONAL ram air scoops anywhere on the hood or the bumper.
The good news: It's still a big country ass, gas-guzzling SUV that's useless offroad. If I want that kind of performance I'd get a damn GTO.

Why I would care less about getting owned by an American clunker.
The CL-S is a complete package. The Trailblazer is a..well..just a Trailblazer. I don't want anything from the big three that was originally an econo car like the Dodge Neon (SRT-4), Ford Taurus (SHO), Chevy S-10 (Cyclone). These are simply just cheap ass cars with factory bolt-ons and shiney plastic interior.
The aforementioned cars are very fast but...so what? You put a big ass engine and high performance parts in ANY car and its bound to go fast. It may even have good handling but...so what?
The U.S. has proven time and time again that they can squeeze a big ass engine into anything on four wheels and make it go fast. Make something that has ALL the components--class, style and performance--then I may turn my head.

IMO, CTSV is fucking awesome. And thats coming from someone who hates American cars.

So they put a ZR-1 engine in a Cadillac. Whoopty doo. But it's a Cadillac. I'm glad to see they're finally trying to get more competative but I've never been a Cadillac fan. Don't get me wrong. I don't hate American cars per se. I've just been so sick and damn tired of the big three putting out sorry ass, poorly thought out, poorly developed cars for so long.
My thinking is this: Instead of putting out a shit load of stripped down cars like for example the "Mustang LX" and the "Camaro RS" (Fucking peices of garbage not worth lining a bird cage with) and making people pay out the ass for add-ons, why not just sell the car fully loaded but put out fewer units? Would have helped in the long run but what the fuck do I know?
Right now I'm still happy with my CL-S. Every time I've checked out later model cars I always seem to spot things I don't like about newer cars or notice that the engineering, performance, and styling of the CL-S is just as good if not better than the majority of late model cars out there today especially considering most cars out there aren't tipping that much over the 200HP mark.
Hell, I'm almost done paying for my CL-S. Once I finish I ain't looking for another damn car note.

#1 - Have you ever ridden in or seen a CTS-V perform?
#2 - "why not just sell the car fully loaded but put out fewer units? Would have helped in the long run but what the fuck do I know?"
Acura has been doing that for the past few years. Take a look at sales. Granted, their cars are nowhere near pretty, the sales of their "fully-loaded as base models" cars arent that great.

I Love my Magnum RT
Handle's great
Has A smooth ride
And Is fast as hell
Great sound system too
I would even go as far as saying that the RT out handles my 01 CLS
And for the cadillac guys my mom has an 01 STS and the RT has a better ride LOL

Im talking new Caddy. 01 was pre-resurgence in my opinion.
And believe what I said before. I hate American cars in general. There are a select few Id think about buying. But thats seriously 2, maybe 3 cars. So Im not on Caddy's or GMs nuts. Ask any of my friends, they'll tell you I hate GM the most out of the not-so-big 3.

I can agree with that. Lately I have not been the Honda/Acura fan-boy that I used to be. I look at a car for what it is- be it good or bad. Some companies I stay far, far away from though (Kia, anyone?).

Im still not convinced with Hyundais. They make decent looking cars, but their quality is still a question mark in my mind. A few of my friends have Hyundais and aside from the resale value being shit, the overall quality isnt up to snuff.
