01 CLS ? Bulletproof?

Just wondering what kind of experiences you guys have had with repairs. Outside of the transmission issue(I am on my third tranny right now) I have had zero problems with my CLS. When I tell people I am considering another acura they think I am nuts.
Has everyone had as little problems with their CL's?

no probems minus the tranny. the way acura never really fixed the tranny problem is reason enough for me never to buy from them again.

The only problems I've had with my '01 CLS (76k mi):
Replaced Tranny @ 50.4k mi.
Front Passenger Seat Motor Went Out.
On 3rd Set of Tires.

Thats It I love my car and wish I could keep it but the miles are racking up and its time for something a little cheaper.
If I could I would buy another Acura.

Tranny went at 21K, other than that, the normal rattle and squeak fixes and my rear speakers blew and were replaced about 2 weeks before the car got totaled by a drunk.

acuator bypass valve went bad, the one that opens up for vtec. seat back broke, and alot of rattles, but that's about it. and i hope the engine lasts as much as the acura reputation suggests.

I dont think that acura can fix the tranny problem 100% theres always going to some issue with it but besides that ita a great car. Even the 96-97 lexus es300 has engine problems but its still one of the best selling lexus' out there now

Ive had a shtload of issues...From the crappy rotors to seat motors, rear lock box not locking, rear view mirror not dimming, transmission at 28k, chrome door handle peals and cuts up my hand, cv boot, and not to mention the host of creaks and rattles....I cant say I wont buy another Acura (double negative) - But I won't buy another 1st year new generation model

you have some serious patience to go through all those problems and not have gotten rid of that thing yet.
my only problem so far has been the rotors.
tranny still good @36500.(knock on wood.)

Fogged passenger head lamp....going to get it replaced soon.

Ant7701, since you work on these cars so often. What causes the fogging. It's weird.....it only fogs up when I wash my car. It doesn't fog when it rains.

Here's what i've had in the first 8 months and 10000 miles of ownership.

Wheel scuffed at factory. Took off the lot this way and corrected at a later date.
Stock Head Unit replaced because CD error code.
Front alignment off, needed front camber adjustment.
Nagging rattles including the sunroof rattle fixed.
Exhaust system needed to be bolted a little tighter.
Rear bumber trim (a portion fell off the track).

Other than that, no complaints. The engine and clutch have been nothing but a true joy to get on
