01 CLS auto VS 98 Prelude S/C

Who would win from a dead start ? My friend has a 98 Prelude with Jackson racing S/C, exhaust, no Cat. Said it is only making 6 psi of Boost.

I have a 01 CLS auto with headers and CAI.

We may run tomorrow. I think it's a driver race, in which case he will LOSE !

What do you guys think will be the outcome ?

I think it depends on what kind of power the lude is putting out with the s/c and if its an auto. If the lude is stick, and gets a 50 or so hp boost from the s/c, you should pray for him to really suck. Those cars are a lot faster than people think they are. Does the lude only have a test pipe and cat-back? Does it have a stock header? Sorry, ever since my 4th gen Ive always loved them. And I never had any problems, unlike my CL_s. But thats a different story for a different day. Let me know what happens. Im interested.

You're a fucking tool. This is the second post I've read by you tonight making an asshat out of yourself.

EDIT: And WTF is wrong with just racing him and finding out for yourself? Then you can post about it and tell us who won.

Nope it's a Stick. Not sure about the headers But... I think it does. I know he has straight Muffler and No Cat.

I know they are alot faster than people think, that's why I kinda think it's close on HP and a drivers race. Anyone know what the Prelude weights ?

This thread is worthless. It's about as useful as an oil thread.

Oh, and I stay on topic 90% of the time. I also provide helpful information to other members when I can and as often as I can. If you knew how to use the search button, you'd be able to see that for yourself.

The prelude is only 3072lbs if its an SH and only 2920lbs if its not, dude sorry to tell you this but your going to get smoked, I have an 01' cls for a daily driver and I have a 2000 RHD prelude I have owned 7 preludes total 4 that are 5th gen, stock to stock the prelude will beat the cls auto and with the s/c on the prelude you dont stand a chance even if he is a bad driver. sorry man

Ok I just askin a question but... you think a "stock" 200 Hp Prelude will beat a 260 Hp CLS ? And i know those are Flywheel 's, just using them for compareson. They were rated at 200 HP right ? I was thinking 6 pounds of Boost would give it 40 - 55 HP.

I cant remember what a cls auto weighs but I think its about 2600lbs ,thats a big dif. plus the prelud being a 5 speed that already kills the cls auto, I love my cls but my prelude will smoke it any day.

Couple of things I think

CSL Manufactures HP = 260 HP TQ = 232 Weight = 3510 0-60 = 6.5 sec

Prelude Manufactures HP = 195 TQ = 156 Weight 3042 0-60 = 7.4 sec

Each pound of Boost can't be more than 8 HP
He only boosting 6 psi ( 6 psi X 8hp = 48 hp )

uh stock for stock the prelude will not beat a cl-s. no way in hell. not even if u have a 5spd prelude vs an auto cls. now if the prelude is s/c'd im pretty sure the cl-s will get smoked. not stock for stock.

I think it should be a pretty close race if he's only boosting 6 lbs. because superchargers dont make much power on inline 4s. And since both are auto it should be close.

Who has the PreLude? I may know him. I know A LOT of people in A-Town. I also reside in Atlanta. JG, I think you should get Veeral to race him. He has ever mod minus SC and Nitrous. He'll be a better race for that PreLude.

There's no way in hell a CL-S of any year weigh's 2600... more like 3200-3400... Either way, a prelude putting down about 250 at the crank vs. a CL-S with 260 @the crank will be a close one with the 'lude probably coming out on top because of the weight difference...

hmmmm, i miss my prelude with all this talk. 2000, black on black, 5 speed.... damn i miss her

edit: as posted above the prelude does not put down 250hp, to be honest i think from driving both that my '03CLS is faster.

**not sure on exact weight but the SH model weighs more than the BASE model due to the SH (super-handling) box located under the car. Thats the one problem with the lude, same as the CLS, weighs a ton

The CL-S was back to stock, except it had the 235/45/17 Toyo T1-S tires @ the time. We both drove each car on different runs, and it came to the same result. This was with no power braking/gate shifting in the CL-S, and with a regular take off w/ the 'lude (took off at like 25-3k rpms).

edit:

imposs: wow it had 4 mufflers?

I love posters who post that its a pointless thread but.... then they post in it to. Off topic post no less ? That's why there are many different threads so you can choose what interest you.

Makes me wonder if what interest them, is posting in pointless threads. Think about it ??

Thank for stopping by and take care.

my friend used to have a lude with I/H/E/P/vtec controller/automatic and all i had was a AEM CAI and i would slaughter him always. he never had a chance. on the freeway i would start in the wrong gear on purpose to just give him some help and i would still pull him. i think you will win.
