So for a while my friend wanted me to race some kids srt. This kid was cocky and would non-stop uptalk the srt and truth be told he needed to be put in his place(like many teen srt drivers)

Last night get a call that the kid is finally ready to race so we make arrangements to meet up at a local strip about a 1/4 mile long. We made sure to get a bunch of people there to watch the event as well, for.. well proof.

So we both meet up in a parking lot and make way there. We had one of our friends to the countdown and total we got 4 runs till we got out of there before the blue and white showed up.

1st run- TCS on and he got a jump on me but I still took him as I was shifting into second.

2nd run- Decided to try tcs off and wow did I get the hole shot, ended up beating by 2 car lenghths

3'd run- tcs off once again pulled him but while shifting into third I somehow shifted into neutral and just ended up revving for 2 seconds

4th run- Same thing as 2nd took him off the line and I kept pulling and pulling but this time it was only a car and a half distance.

All in all it was fun and the kid shut his mouth despite the bitching about how he needed a new clutch . He then proceded to tell me that from a 50mph roll he would waste me not realizing that that is my sweet spot and once again he would lose, however I didnt feel like putting my auto tranny through anymore hell so I just let it be knowing I would win again anyways. Funny thing is after we all cleared out 2 sherriffs went blazing by while we were sitting in a parking lot relaxin after the race.

 

Nice, you think I could beat a modded srt-4 with my 6 spd? Theres a whole gang of them here in my town, about 6 of them that drive around together. They own some custom car garage. Not sure what they got done to there cars but they sound nasty. Ive always wanted to line up with them on the high way, but I always thought they would whip me.

 

He or his car sucked. A stock SRT4 runs 13.9 1/4 mile runs. At the track I've seen 13.6's in a few different stock SRT4's.
Your car has heavy 19's & is auto & even at best stock is a low 14 sec car.
Ok you won, but the SRT should have.

 

My 19's are 5 lbs more each than my 17's, I do have a cold air intake, and I ripped out my sub, spare, and tools out the trunk.

Rendan Im guessing that if they own some custom place their srts are probably stage three or a completely custom turbo setup all together. I kno we can take the stage one's and two's with a few mods like headers intake exhaust and pulleys. But when srts get to stage three and above they get really nasty

 

Honestly, IDK where you are getting your info. I'm not trying to be mean, but the SRT4 debate has been brought up many times. A stock or modded( IHEP) CLS auto or 6MT will not beat a stock SRT4 in a 1/4 mile given decent drivers. A modded 6mt CLS will keep up & may inch up but there will be no pulling away.

 

I totally understand where you are coming from, My guess is that this kid is a terrible driver. All 4 times he could hardly keep up, he has no stages on it, it is just a bone stock srt with a catback. Im not sure whether his is the one with 215hp or 230hp. I have yet to knowingly race staged srt I just know that they are rated at 13.9 in the 1/4 mile with a stage 2 upgrade. We were racing on the street so i didn't really have much tire spin and only wheel hopped for about a second, the rest was all traction. A lot has to do with the driver aswell, in order to attain that 13.9 you have to be good, as with any car.

 

Saw a CL-S race an SRT with tbe, wga+map clamp, and a few other things including a 3'' o2 housing. It was NOT pretty.

 

i have an 01 cl-s and an 02 srt 4 if you beat him it's a miracle in a 1/4 mile i run max 13.8 in my srt theres no way i could beat it with my auto cl-s but congrats anyways

Nice, are you staged at all? I don't know if this kid is a horrible driver or if his car is messing up. He wasn't even stage one, I know a stage 2 would probably walk all over me. It was fun and I won so i'm happy, just kind of wish i put money on it :l

As an old man here lol I will be 32 next month. I have to say any race can be decided by drivers. I had a 1995 neon heavily modifed and beat a mustang once.. if the kid is a bad driver or gets scared and backs off once your flying anything can happen. But I would have to agree the SRT stock is faster than the CL and with equal drivers should win every time.
