Unhappy 01 CL-S problems

I have two problems going on with my 01 CL-S, First problem since I recieved my transmission replacement in July of 2006, the car proformance has dramitically fallen off. the acceleration nor top end power is just not visible as it was with the original tranny. I found myself i having to dig deep on throttle to merge out on the highway. The car is sometimes hessitant when changing out gears, especially now in the winter time.
Any suggestion will glady appreciated.

Next problem, In october my passenger side headlamp went out drove around with one head lamp until two weeks ago my drivers side head lamps went out, so now I am getting around on the High beams. I believe my ballast are gone even though a couple of my friends were saying it could be a fuse or maybe my bulb. I still think its my ballast, My question is I know dealer is going cost an arm and leg to replace them, so is aftermarket setup a good Idea??????????

Any suggestion glady appreciated
