Ok call me a dick but I test drove a 01 Cl yesterday and im in the process of the purchase, But my question is how and the hell do you turn on the fogs? I did not see a switch where I though there would be one next to the vsa and cruise. Can anyone help me out ? I even though it was just that car but I looked at 3 different ones I could not find the switch.

 

The lights are hard wired to the headlight switch.
Your bulbs might be out. Acura correctly calls them roadlamps as they are like 4-6 watt bulbs, mostly for looks.

 

It's a shame they don't look good with the OEM bulbs... Just ordered my PIAA 19173 bulbs to give it the yellow "fog" light look like the Lexus. Can't wait for them to get here.

 

I want to get some of the yellows too. I have some of the whiter PIAA bulbs now and they look better than the stocks.

I have the yellow PIAA's as well. Got them off e-bay. I like them a lot more than the white ones.

 

Got mine from a local friend.

Much better than stock.

i got some unique ones... I have Hyper white PIAA LED's they are bright but focused so it looks like a strong white/blue mini fog light.... ill try and get some pics

PIAA's don't look so blue-ish-purple. They are pure white. At a glance, it's almost identical to the HID's. Don't you have Polarg's, Ryan?


REDLINEN: It goes like this...

PIAA 19224= hyper white, almost identical to the HID's at a glace. It doesn't get any closer.

PIAA 19173= ion yellow, gives the Lexus IS300 look of the "yellow fogs". Lower wattage but the bulb is just as bright at the 19224.

Either light will "look" like a fog light but it's not and never will be. Anyone who doesn't know won't have a clue.

Both will cost you around $9~$15 thru ebay for the pair.

The 19173's are less likely to do any housing melting due to the smaller bulb and lower wattage.

I've had both and honestly, I like the yellow's better. It gives the car a little more character at night IMO. If you search my username, I've posted some pics with the yellow's installed. Please note that NONE of the pics do them justice. You really have to see them in person to get the full YELLOW effect.

IMHO, I say go yellow if the car is any color but SSM. If it is SSM go hyper white. stawoo's is SSM and she went hyper white PIAA. It looks outstanding with the silver.

I used to use Polarg M6's but became disappointed by what seemed to be a short lifespan. I've since switched to the PIAA 19224's. Either are a nice match with the HID's. I got my PIAA's at http://store.yahoo.com/ltbmotorsport/pimibu.html for $10.88 for the twin pack.

REMEMBER: The second pic does not do the yellow 19173's justice! They are flat out bright freakin' yellow!!!

 

Oh, and unlike the 19224's, the 19173 bulb doesn't stick out like a sore thumb in the day time with the lights off.

 

Yeah man, I was kicking myself in the ass for the last too months after I got rid of my baby. I just love Acura's. Now my goal is too mod the hell out of it.

 

in my roadlamps i am running ambers like you would have in the sidemarkers or corners. i like it cause its color matched to the blinkers. i was thinking about changing the roadlamp wiring to stay off unless i hit the blinker. the only other i would go with is the hyperwhite cause at night it just doesnt look right to me with 2 diff color yellows on the front of the car.

 

 

I bought these silver looking bulbs from pepboys thinking they were the shit comes to find out...they were flippin ugly , and the HID headlights over powered them so I really couldn't see them well. My next step is to convert it into a signal light to give it that Euro look made with amber LED's hope it works out

Ok I got the bulbs yesterday and im not sure if I like them. Here is a pic, Although not a good one. I think im going too get some amber one's too match the indicator lights.

 

Do they match the headlights? From the pics they do. I've never heard of the 19172's though. The 19173's are yellow and the 19224's are white.

 

I also bought the PIAA 24's but they are very blue, during the day when the road lamp is not on, it looks very ricey, is there any light that dont have the blue coloring and are more or less clear? (LINK where to buy em PLEASE?)

^^ That's the only thing about having those bulbs. They look like blue thumbs sticking out in there. Hence they "stick out like a sore thumb".

 

PIAA makes chromed bulbs that light up amber and they also make LEDs which light up a VERY nice white, but they are EXPENSIVE

yeah mine are a lil blue looking kinda ricey. I went and got some orange ones too match my signal lights. If I dont like them im gonna get some Ion yellow Piaa bulbs and go with the Lexus look and call it a day.

 

I have fogs HID i had to rigg mines but its soo dame bright its not even funny looks very nice to meonly prob is bottom right is kind of yellow but from far its white!!
