01-03 auto transmission changes?
01-03 auto transmission changes?
whats up guys, this is my 2nd cl type s first one was stick now I had to buy an auto for the girl I know that the transmission goes on all over them but I was wondering has anyone made and changes like boring out the guilds or anything to stop the problem other then swaping the tranny ever year or so...????
The best change you can make is stop rebuilding the POS, and drop in an AV6 or Odyssey Transmission. Instead of continually putting a ticking time bomb in your car, put something that is proven to be a better alternative.
I am approaching 100000 miles on my rebuild trans, but it's got a cooler, trans temp gauge and levelten.com clutches and seals.
I am the only one who has done this on this entire site and sure enough it fixed my problem...
Most of my driving is city driving too, always on and off the gas, always changing gears. And it shifts the same as when I got it rebuilt.

The important upgrade here is a cooler. Why this wasn't done from the factory is a mystery. Even if you get an Odyssey transmission, please get a cooler to go with it. A bar-and-fin cooler is easily attached to the condenser on one side at the front of the vehicle. It will slightly increase fluid capacity, which in turn will take longer to overheat, and it allows some of that heat to radiate and be removed by oncoming airflow across the fins.
or u could disconnect the transmission fluid warmer... but that may make things take forever to get to operating temp in the winter..
maybe there is a way to have it turn off at a certain temp??
beats me... but i do know there is a trans fluid warmer...
