01'-02' Cup Holder 'flaps' removal help?

01'-02' Cup Holder 'flaps' removal help?
I need to remove the two flaps that cover the cupholder in order to install an XM radio unit. If anyone has done this, or knows how please help. I've been f'n with em for 30 minutes with no luck .

try taking the entire middle console out and try.
