Japanese sports car builder Tommy Kaira, famous for its Norfolk-built two-seat Lotus Elise-rivalling roadster, is set to storm back into the market with this ZZ2, a 206mph Ferrari 360 Modena-rivalling coupé.
Based on a monocoque chassis and due to be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in October, the 550bhp machine uses a highly tuned 2.6-litre Nissan Skyline engine to sprint from 0-60mph in around 3.0 seconds. A four-wheel-drive system, also borrowed from the Skyline, ensures supreme traction, although news that the firm is also said to be working on a two-wheel-drive edition is sure to excite those who relish a challenge.

Despite the ZZ2's incredible speed, the brakes will be more than up to the job of slowing down the outrageous machine, as engineers are looking at six-pot callipers for the front and four-pot callipers for the rear.

The ZZ2 is expected to go on sale in 2002 with a price of around £60,000. The firm is also rumoured to be taking the car to the classic 24-hour Le Mans race in 2003.

Look smart guy, he was comparing apples to apples. Its like some guy raving about how the new F-22 can pull Mach 3 (hypothetically) when hell, the SR-71 was doing it way back in the 70's. The Apollo Moon Capsule did Mach 25 equivalent circling the moon. Big whoop huh?

The comparison here was for a street legal car in the United states at supercar speeds, ie 3 sec 0-60's. Name one, name a few? speechless? Thought so jackass.

For crying out loud, who the f*ck doesn't know a Superbike can't destroy anything short of a GT1.

For some reason I don't think you would feel justified if a random man came up to me and gave me a CLK-GTR then gave you a ZX-9R. Hell, we're both just as fast, right?

Cars that cost that much have the US as their primary target market. This is the land of the $$. Super cars are sold here more than anywhere else. So I would be surprised if this car wont be sold here.

Also that 3.0 sec 0-60 I am sure is there mainly due to the AWD. It does help put the power on the ground. The RWD version (if it ever happens) should be at least 0.5 sec slower.

0-60mph in 3 seconds? I thought only super motorcycle could do that......well it's great for a japanese car to do that. See GTR's engine seems like has no limit.
