What makes a vehicle fun to drive? Well, the concept means different things to different people. For some, hassle-free ownership and personable styling make for good times behind the wheel. Others enjoy a sports car with a rev-happy engine and quick handling characteristics. Or maybe all it takes is the bud vase in Volkswagen's New Beetle to make your driving experience a fun one.

As far as we know, there's no litmus test available to determine how fun a car is. But based on our experiences with so many different vehicles, we have found that performance often plays a big part. If a vehicle accelerates quickly or handles well, it's generally a good indicator that the vehicle is fun to drive.

Because everybody loves lists, we've put together a list of the best performing cars and trucks for 2000. (Think of this list as the equivalent of People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive contest.) We've ranked vehicles in our performance database according to its acceleration, braking, and skidpad numbers. In terms of this list, we only added vehicles that were able to meet the following criteria:

Cars
Accelerate from zero to 60 in 7.75 seconds or less.
Brake from 60 to zero in 138 feet or less.
Achieve .80g or better in lateral acceleration on the skidpad.

Our Car Meets all the Criteria for FUN To DRIVE !

LOL I never thought my car was "fun to drive" until Edmunds.com told me so. In fact I thought of my car to be a bumbling, slobbering Sloth, but Edmunds.com showed me the light.

Thanks, Edmunds.com!

LMAO

Seriously though, one reasonour cars aren't as fun to drive as others is their weight, at least IMO. The weight makes the car feel like if it's accelerating slower than it actually is.

Ah, Iridium 's Gona CRY: He doesn't like his car, thinks it's NOT fun To Drive

Cry us a Handful Iridium

Why the Hell'd you buy it then & What's your def' of Fun to drive ? Edmunds was simply a point of reference. I didn't even know the site exsisted until 3 weeks ago; If I had to depend on a WEB site to tell me what's fun to drive, instead of my own Personal judgement, I'd stop driving today.

On the other hand, it's kinda of nice to have WEB sites C O N F I R M what you already know and experience.

Guess you should be driving a Vette or maybe one of them 800 + HP Vipers

Would that excite you ?

I took a trip out to Georgia a couple weeks ago. All I saw were inbred hicks and rednecks and Ku Klux Klan members. More than you could shake a stick at.
