Nah, its not going to melt. The guy put a special thermal insulator that will prevent the housing and the plastic from melting. They are both 6000K, the headlights and foglights.

What do you mean how to do it? It's a "plug and play" kit...Have you ever changed a light bulb? It's THAT easy. Only hard party is paying $450 for the kit.

No he had someone put a coating on the plastic light fixture so it will not melt.

GREAT job Apu Do you have it to a switch so you can turn it off?? How did the plastic hols up the first night?? How bout some pics of the housing in the daylight when they are not on

Putting coating over light fixture is OVER KILL. HID takes less wattage, give off LESS heat than halogen, but give off more LIGHT. Less heat = no melt. Don't argue with me. I've been using HID lights since 1996 on both of my Integras.

what you don't realize is the housing we have in the roadlamp is very weak. it melted when we used 18watts bulbs instead of the standard 5 watt bulbs.

I believe the HIDS's run at 35 watts which is twice as stronger than the 18watts that burned the housing.

if your talking about headlight housing then yes it won't have a problem but for the roadlamp housing diff story

Ahh, i was thinking of stock TL fogs...which uses 9006 (55 watts)...wow, CL fogs only 18 watts??? man, 18 watts barely gives off any lights...probably just for decoration? j/k

That's exactly what I saw on a PDG CL last Saturday in Coconut Grove. Looks awesome in person. I want to get that done also. How much did you pay for everything? And keep us updated on how the housing holds up.

actually 5 watts, same as the bulbs in the door and map lights.

most of us upgraded to the polarg 18watt white bulbs but after burning the housing and replacing it twice I just took them out.

Thanks guys for your opinions. Everything costed me 500 dollars. The installer said that the housings will not melt and the plastic wont melt. I will keep you guys updated with the fog lights. I checked this morning, and still no melting whatsoever. If you guys live in the NJ/NY, shoot me up a PM, if you want to get them done for your car.

why would U be getting pisst when u got lights bright enough to light a freakin football stadium? Hell just seeing the pic alone kinda hurt my eyes so i cant even imagine how the oncoming traffic feels.

And yea yea, ppl will say "dont look directly at the lights stupid !" but having fogs that bright isnt exactly necessary - and pretty selfish to do just so ur car can look "cool" and different.

Some of u guys will do just about anything to make ur car stand out and whatnot

I dont get it... isnt the 6000k bulbs just color inhanced to a brighter white, its the 35w bulbs that are in the low beam, correct? So that means they make less light output than the stock 4300k low beams. So basicly Imfafuz has 6000k bulbs in his lowbeam that makes less lightout put than stock 4300k bulbs... so then its ok to make up the difference to put in 6000k bulbs in the fogs. Did i make sense?

So yea youa re just a hater. Alot of people put aftermarket Fog sets into their car. I dont see how this is any different. Plus i bet you are one of those who bitched about not having real fogs in the CLS.
