I myself doubt it will be totalled. The repair costs have to be at least 75% of the value, so unless its closer to $20k in damage they'll probably just fix it.

As for it driving the same if you take it to a good place it should be fine. Find out where Autometric takes it to get the frame straightened and find out if they are a good company. My Mustang's frame got bent and it drives perfectly fine. However, you will also lose some money when/if you sell it because a major accident like that will for sure show up on carfax, etc.

And if they total it I'd take offers on mine.

I'm glad you are fine but remember please wear your seatbelt. Car is a car if they claim the car is total then gets you a 6-speeds. Let me or MI members know if you need any help during this time.

Hey darrin...I was just wondering...ever though of how much dirt & debris your engine sucked in since your filter literally broke off? Your engine must of still been running while you were falling down the ditch right?

Glad you’re alright. Some guys have all the luck, I drove around all winter hoping someone would smack into me on the slippery streets and it never happened. I want a new TL so bad.

What's the full story? I missed it. Where'd you wreck?

It really hurts to see a black/black CL-S that looks almost exactly like mine wrecked. I'd love a 6 speed black/black but my baby is... my baby

I think i might just go for a drive this evening.

Then go get something in a 6spd.

First off, sorry to hear about your loss. I guess the more important question is who's your insurance under, you or your parents? Either way, you might have to look at a car with a much lower rating, or end up paying more for insurance than for the car payment.

That thing looks bad. Glad you're alright.

I still can't see that car being totaled. Guess we'll find out soon enough though.

Plenty of 03 Autos to replace it however.

Darrinb,

Sorry to hear about your accident, but glad to know that you are OK. IF your car is totaled, AND you are interested in buying a CLS 6-speed that you wouldn't have to modify (and if you can live with TF/Parchment), THEN I have a car for you to consider. Regardless, I hope all will work out for you.

Would $9800 bucks alone be enough to total it?

I can't see how that's only 9,800 bucks to fix.
It looks more like more in the 15+ range to me.
It would probably need to be 20+ to total the car since it's a 2003 and they go to like 80% of value.

that was the insurance estimate, the collision is gonna tear apart the car and give the insurance their estimate then will go from there.

If it is totaled(and I hope it isn't), you have these options.

1.Let the ins. co. buy it from you.

2.Buy the salvage title from ins. co. and:
a.) part it out
1.tuner shop might like the engine or another cl needs one
2.you got a 03 auto that some 01 and 02 could be
interested in
b.)put it on ebay as is(put money in your pocket)

3.Get sponsorship and turn it into the first cl race car

And if it can be repaired, have your own independent mechanic
inspect it and if he says its ok, buy the extended warranty for
it as a precaution.
