$579 for 75K service!!!!!

What's up with that? The only extra thing they do besides what is in the manual is de-carb the motor and clean the fuel system. What have you guys paid for the 75K service? BTW this is at Bell Acura.

$579?! i hope you didn't pay that yet. you should be paying somwhere around 200 bucks. that is a total ripoff.

It should be about the same as a 15,000 service. I'd say $100-200 would be about right. Besides oil and filter, it's all inspections. Major service is at 30,000--60,000--90,000....with new brake fluid and coolant at 45,000 and the timing belt at 105,000. 75,000 is nothing special.

Here's the name of that tune:

The manufacturer specifies certain things to be done at each service interval.

The Dealer has a different set of "recommendations".

You have to specify that you only want the Acura required things, or they'll give you a hosin'

when i took my car in for warranty work, the service writer noticed that i havent been taking my car in for any of the scheduled checkups and asked if i do them myself. i said yeah, they're just expensive oil changes. he just laughed and said "yeah i know, they are". they know its a ripoff

I think I paid about he same, maybe a little more since I had my belts replaced at the same time and the engine cleaning thing. Not entirely sure if it is a ripoff or not. But I know since I had my 105k service done I have seen improved gas mileage, which is a little odd.

Yeah price is about right for a 75k if at a dealership. However when I had mine done minus tire rotaion and oil change cause i had my oil changed already and my tires were new and wound up paying like $260.
