I was having trouble fitting my old battery tie down (stock) with my icebox in there so I got a comptech battery tie down... I don't know why I justwasted $40. I'm sure there was a better way around it... damnit... I hate being stupid with money...

Can you guys give me some reasons so I don't feel so bad about blwoing $40 that could have been wasted on beer instead???

 

It says COMPTECH and if it came with stickers it’s GOT to add Horsepower somewhere.

Well if u ever find yourself driving up side down you can rest assure that your battery is being held in place.

 

Nah man, don't worry about it. I was actually thinking of getting that same item just because the stock one is fugly and when I finally get a system in, I will probably leave the battery cover off.

 

I don't think the comptech battery tied down will work with the icebox. We had a TL-P in which he had a comptech tie down and it didn't fit no more. I'm getting my icebox so I can test it...but it looks doubtful...not enough space.

 

yeah, it's a tight squeeze... if it doesn't fit I'll just sell it or put it on my sister's accord.

Just to update this thread a little i just got the CT Battery Tie Down and Oil Cap in the mail today and with the IceBox installed the Battery Tie down won't fit. What a waste that was.

However the new oil cap fits and looks great. So it wasn't a total loss.

Also i decide to step out and grab some lunch while waiting for the UPS truck and when i get back i get the sticker on my door shit saying they came and will now try back tomorrow. They left the box with the Battery Tie Down and Oil Cap but the ones containing the CT b-pipe and CT exhaust will have to wait until tomorrow.

 

Chap, does your stock battery tie down actually touch the icebox? mine does.

 

Yeah its not a super tight fit like its pushing a dent in the icebox but there is basically no room between the stock battery tie down and the icebox.

 

 

might as well keep the stock tie down if you have to grind on the $40 billet piece to make it fit.

 

Yeah grinding it down is always an option.

 

Or sell it.

 

I'll eat the loss on this one and if anything it will become a $40 paper weight.

well its too small i try to put it across the battery and it doesnt go all the way to the bolts....i bought it from evilone i think it was on his 99 TL he said they would fit the CL

 

let me see if I can find you a picture.... it fits my 51R battery perfectly, but I will try and find you a picture of it on a stock battery.

um i dont have a 9 tl i have an 01 cl-s (not for much longer thank god) but i never used the tie down i bought it a while ago and while i was waiting for it to come i painted the bat cover and thought it looked a lot better than a billet tie down. i ordered it from acura for a 01 cl-s and i never charged you for it anyway. i gave it to you free with the oil cap

Yeah its the stock battery...I see there is that black bracket over the battery so I figured it must go there right? But it doesnt meet the ends of the bolts...its like an inch or so away from each one when i put it in the center

I do not know if there are 2 different battery ties.

and this is the one that came with my Supercharger kit. for my 51R battery.

 

Thanks! Mine looks the same...But I have a Stock battery...is that too large or something? Cuz When i Try to put mine across the battery it doesnt fit...

 

im pretty sure when you install the S/C a smaller battery is required.

 

I'll figure a way to custom fit it on there...btw that supercharger looks hott SMITTY!!
