$37,100 sticker on an '03 CL-S

I was at Criswell Acura in Annapolis today and I was looking around while I was waiting for my car. They only have 2 CL-S left on the lot. Both are white, 6spd, Navi. One parchment interior, one black. One stickers for $32,600 the other for $37,100. At first I went Then I looked closer and it had Comptech headers, intake, and exhaust. Should that really add $4,500 to the sticker? It broke down the prices of each mod. $1,499 headers, $799 for exhaust, and a ridiculous $499 for the Icebox. I would think you could get them down to $31-32k. I guess it is nice to get a brand new car with bolt-ons already installed.

I'm assuming they overpriced expecting someone to bargain down to the price they expected to get.

Damn, they still have CLs left there? I was at the dealer four weeks ago and they had 1 CLP, no CLS. Said they could have one shipped in if I wanted. No deal available. He said sticker price was firm. I said OK, I'll keep my first gen. It's better looking anyway IMO.

Honest question: does the Acura warranty cover Comptech upgrades installed by the dealer? (Maybe I'll talk them down 5G and buy it myself.)

The service Mgr I talked to at Crown Acura in Greensboro, NC (installed my icebox), and my local dealers SvcMgr, Leith Acura, Cary, NC said they don't have a problem with the factory warranty with the mods if an acura dealer installs them. This doesn't mean they will warranty the comptech parts themselves, but it doesn't interfere with the factory warranty.

If you mean the parts themselves, I doubt it. That can be a tricky situation tho since they were sold on the car in the first place, like this example, but in general I'd guess no.

Hmmm. $27G for a CLS6?!? The image of having both my 2K2 Max SE and a 2K3 CLS6 in my garage sounds enticing, and @ that price, very possible. (Thinking aloud: give the wife the Max and roll in the CLS6. )

Offer 30K for the CLS6 with the Comptech and work from there! You shouldn't pay more than 33k for it....especially since it will be worth about 24k the second it leaves the lot!

If they had one like that, but with springs/sways/shocks instead of exhaust I'd have thought about it. The price is a bit high, though, as has been mentioned.

More like $750.... $1200 for headers... $600 for exhaust... $250 for Icebox. That works out to $750 in savings. Plus installation, it actually is a decent deal when you think about it. It is just all on top of a $33k sticker. There were a few other dealer add-ons. Sunroof visor, wheel locks, spoiler.

I bought my car from them back in 00, and I really didn't care for their salesman. The repair shop was cool though, they had a junior mechianic stratch my rims pulling it onto a lift. And I complain so the manager took my car and had all 4 rims buffed, and you couldn't see the scratches anymore.

At that price it looks like they'll have 2 CLS's on the lot for awhile.

That's the reason why they are still there ($$).

Speaking of shady dealers...

When I was searching for my '03 CL-S 6spd this past summer, I came across one at a local dealer. Nighthawk Black, with the OEM spoiler. They wanted $28,000 for it.

Here's the kicker - It already had 28,000 miles on it!

I laughed at them and got one with 11,000 miles on it for $25,000. Still a little pricey but much better deal IMO.
