Would +40mm Offset Work At All On A TSX?

I'm looking at some wheels that are 18" x 8" & are only available in +40. I'd be running 235/40-18 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s & am lowered with Eibach's Pro Kit. Should I consider this wheel or forget it. Thanks for the help in advance.

First of all, check this thread out: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20434

vwong is running +40 offset and 235 tires and he has some rubbing. Then again his car is very low.

Well, I was looking at the ASA AR1 (black with polished lip) for my car but Tire Rack only has it listed in 17" x 7" & has the silver with polished lip listed in 18" x 7.5". They have the 18" x 8" listed for the TL (auto...no Brembos). Maybe ASA makes them in different offsets. The black ones aren't in stock yet, I guess it's a new item.

They show the BBS RS-GT in 18" x 8" with a +40mm offset fitting the TSX though. Strange...maybe because they cost $816.00 per rim. I guess I should call them.

They will fit, even 20x9" will fit with 30 offset, but it sure will be ugly with rims protruding out like mad.

18x8 40mm will protrude out a little bit from the wheel fender. You'd need to lower your car quite aggressively coupled with some negative camber in order for the wheels to sit flush and have a clean look. I believe that's what Vwong did to his car. I'm running 17x8 with 45mm offset, and it's sticking out 1mm-2mm. My car doesnt have the oem ground skirts, so naturally the wheels look a bit protruded compared to one with the kit.

tirerack's recommendation are bogus, they don't know what fits our car. don't look at our car's fitment, just see what sizes the wheel comes in general.

Just Rota Torques (Work Emotion knockoffs). Nothing spectacular. Going with a rim @ that price point allows me more budget for tires. I'm sure I'll catch hell from people for putting the Rotas on & am fully prepared for the onslaught of negativity.
