Would +40mm Offset Work At All On A TSX?
Would +40mm Offset Work At All On A TSX?
I'm looking at some wheels that are 18" x 8" & are only available in +40. I'd be running 235/40-18 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s & am lowered with Eibach's Pro Kit. Should I consider this wheel or forget it. Thanks for the help in advance.
First of all, check this thread out: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20434
vwong is running +40 offset and 235 tires and he has some rubbing. Then again his car is very low.

Well, I was looking at the ASA AR1 (black with polished lip) for my car but Tire Rack only has it listed in 17" x 7" & has the silver with polished lip listed in 18" x 7.5". They have the 18" x 8" listed for the TL (auto...no Brembos). Maybe ASA makes them in different offsets. The black ones aren't in stock yet, I guess it's a new item.

18x8 40mm will protrude out a little bit from the wheel fender. You'd need to lower your car quite aggressively coupled with some negative camber in order for the wheels to sit flush and have a clean look. I believe that's what Vwong did to his car. I'm running 17x8 with 45mm offset, and it's sticking out 1mm-2mm. My car doesnt have the oem ground skirts, so naturally the wheels look a bit protruded compared to one with the kit.
