Yes. Just make sure you keep the wheels reasonably clean, especially if they have any damage like curb rash, etc.

I think it is better to have two sets of wheels rather than having to pay for mounting and balancing the tires on one set of rims. Mounting and balancing by me runs about $15 to $20USD.
and you can resale your extra set of wheels also, not really losing money here, but save the mounting fees.

I just noticed that Tirerack is listing the Dunlop Winter Sport M3 in 215/50 17 95XL. Tirerack Customer Service. They told me they were sold out for the season. I would have waited for these because they have better tread life then the Blizzacks and they are better performance tires in all categories compared to the stock Michelins.

I just moved to NJ and I'm wondering if I should bother with snow tires. Any other NJ-ites use winter tires on their TSX?

I went the other way and bought some nice 17" rims for my winter setup. I had steel discs on my previous Accord and hated the look... Maybe it would be nice to create a photo section of our winter tyre setups

What exit?
Seriously, I'm getting them because I drive thru PA and upstate NY.
Hunterdon County has terrible road clearance, and if the TSX is anything like the TL, forget it.

Well, I drive a lot between Hoboken and Red Bank (exit 109 on the GSP). I think the roads I drive on should be plowed most of the time.

NJ Is not the tundra people think it is. I never had snow tires and never wished I did.

Deciding on snow tires all depends on how much you depend on your car for getting around and if you have to drive up hills and whether or not the back roads to your home is plowed or not.

I bought snow tires because not going into work due to snow is not an option for me. Sure there are winter seasons when you could have just used all season tires, but I like not having to worry about getting stuck in the snow.

I put on my winter rim/tire setup over the weekend. Took some (very unsharp, sorry!) pics. Tire is Dunlop Winter Sport M2 in 205/50/17. Rims are ETC which were pretty ok and specially cheapo...

Got the rims through the dealer... he ordered the Honda emblems to come with them... They look nice for winter rims... I used to have 15" steelies on my previous accord and hated the look, so decided to do it properly with this car...

I live in NJ and bought a set of 16" steels w/ 215/55/16 ContiWinter Contacts. They have been on my TSX for about 3 weeks now and they have performed great. The speed rating is higher than the stock tires, so highway driving is actually much more stable. They are a winter performance tire so they are comparible to the M3's. I payed $635 for the package from tirerack and had no problems with shipping. These tires are excellant in the rain and on dry road (for snow tires). It hasen't snowed here in North Jersy yet, so I don't know how they perform in snow. For the record I hve not activated the VSA once since these tires have been on my TSX. I you only get a few snow storms a winter and don't want to give up a lot on performance this tire will keep you happy.

Here's my winter setup using
Rota Slipstreams 16x7 from my old car.
Tires are 205/60/16 Viking Snowsport.

The combo weighs 35lbs and it seems to help
accleration noticeably according to my butt dyno!!

That`s some serious mileage dude. What year is your TSX, and up to what mileage are you at now.

and a rim..

i think i'm just gonna go with a steelie and a 205/60/16 winter tire...

the thinner the better in the winter... that's why i'm staying away from 215/50/16...

hit up tirerack.com

it is still early enough in the year to get good deals on 16" alloy wheels.

my sister bought 16" alloys for her VR6 Jetta GLI @ $60per rim. NOT BAD for alloys considering the dealer wanted $98 per steel wheel and other places wanted $50 for steel wheels.

true.

that, and it'll be cheaper to grab 205's rather than 215's...

Instead of going for steel wheels, i searched ebay for take off wheels. I got a great deal of some 16's... $169 for all four. This will be my 3rd season and I've been very happy with them. Here is my original thread...

Two new class-leading snow tires, available in Europe last winter, are heading to the US/Canada: Goodyear Ultra Grip 7 and Dunlop SP Winter Sport D3 (which has replaced the M3 at tirerack.com).

The best info can be found on their manufacturers' European websites:

I had the blizzaks earlier this year and sold 'em thinking winter was up, blast! anyway, I hit up the dealer and picked up some 16" steels for about $50 a piece.

I'm going with Green Diamond tires this year though, www.greendiamondtire.com. Looks to be pretty good and I've got a few raves from ppl that have had the x-ice & blizzaks before and these apparently beats 'em.

I went with some cheap 17' Alloys and Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50 - Great grip and awesome hwy. performance for a "snow" tire. The Hakkapaletta's are also awesome in ice and snow, however not so good on the HWY - too soft.

So...would these rims fit the TSX?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=290030133260

I'm deciding if I should pick up a set of cheap alloys from ebay, or just getting the honda steel 16's for $45 a piece.

As far as I know they shoud fit as Acura has the same 5 bolt offset pattern. They will also fit without spacer rings like most of the aftermarket cheap alloys require.

I bought the same ones...but in 205-60-16 on honda steels...I've been driving on them for a week now, and I'm happy with them. Not much difference between the OEM and these as far as noise is concerned, the ride comfort is probably 10% less than stock, and the cornering is about 10% less as well. Not too bad for a winter wheel, IMO.

I'm looking into getting a new set of rims to put the stock tires on for "summer"... then put some winter tires on the stock rims.

I'd like to keep the outside diameter of the tires pretty much exactly the same as stock, so that rules out the Nokian RSi's (my first choice).

So, my question is: Which is better... Nokian WR or Michelin X-Ice? Or, if I'm stupid and the difference in outside diameter won't make a discernable difference in Odometer/Speedometer readings, you can let me know that too.

got my Dunlop SP Winter Sport D3 installed on my stock wheels yesterday. so far i am pleased with their dry pavement performance. i don't have any experience driving with any other winter tires so its hard for me to compare them though. one thing i did notice though was improved ride comfort going from my 18s back to stock 17s. tire size is 225 - 45..cant wait to test them out in some snow!!!

I'm going to be running on Nokian Hakka RSI's for this winter in 205/50/17 fitment. I just put them on today and they ride well except for the added road noise. I was expecting that because Street Spirit's Nokian Hakka 2's are just as noisy, but they are really grippy in deep snow and ice. Hopefully the RSI's will be just as good as the Hakka 2's.
