wicked camber kit. ????

before you say ingalls I need an upper arm kit. Mines an 04 and the upper arms were never replaced under warranty.

I cannot get a goodwill repair now so needing to replace the upper right arm. I figure why not get some with adjustment.

the irony is with my tires and offset the right rear tire does not scrub but the back left one does and needs to be set alittle more negative. I keep reading the ingalls is easier to install why? is it hard to get the ball joint loose?

The sooner I can order these the better I'm considering these and megans as the comptechs do not seem to be any higher quality. Just wanted to get some idea before I ordered.

You shouldn't need to replace the right upper arm if you went with an Ingalls kit. The camber could be set to whatever spec you decide on, on both sides even it the right upper arm is the wrong size (which since your car is an 04, I guess we can assume it is)(and the TSB is for one upper contol arm). When I lowered my 05, I decided that the Ingalls would be easier to install, plus it allows for more and better toe adjustment, which I don't think the other kits do (whenever the camber is adjusted, it throws the toe off). They all tilt the wheel (which is all camber is), it just depends on where it's done; top or bottom of the hub.

with my low offset my concern is the ingalls will put the back left side out to much. I already have the rim width then I add the ingalls and I think I will loose the balance I have gotten. Plus we see what going with "recomendations" instead of my instincts got me. (not using 15mm spacers all around)

The ingalls does look easier to work with.

Does this coment make sense to anyone else? Does anybody else think the same as me regarding that statement? sice the back laft is scrubbing im also afraid I will have to go way negative to get it correct.

I've had the Wicked Kit for over a year now I think or close to it and absolutely no issues. Good alternative to the Ingalls if you don't want to pay that much. I do like how it's toe is more adjustable though. Install wasn't too hard, if you got the proper tools that is. A shop can do it for you in under an hour I imagine.

I think you're worried about something that you shouldn't be. The Ingalls replacement arms provide a wide range of adjustment and you'll never use it all, whether you go to negative or positive camber. The OE spec is around -1 (it's actually a range, but I've been told that -1 is what it's supposed to be). Many of the 04's with the bad upper control link I've read ran up to -2 (if/when you have yours aligned, you'll find out what yours is). So.... I'm quite sure that if you went with an Ingalls kit, you could adjust the camber (and toe) as much as you want or need to. When you install whatever kit you choose, you're going to need to get an alignment. Find a shop that either is familiar with, or is willing to do what it takes to, do the alignment using the aftermarket kit (Tire Rack's installer database is a good source for that). Explain what's going on and that you've installed a kit to allow them to adjust the camber so that you're not rubbing. And don't worry too much about excess negative camber. It doesn't really effect day to day handling, and according to what I've read (by people who know more about this than I do) it's actually out of spec toe that promotes faster and/or uneven tire wear. I had quite a bit more negative camber after I lowered the car (to be expected), and it didn't feel any different. I installed the kit and went to the OE camber spec because I didn't like the way it looked. I won't comment on any of the other kits because I'm not familiar with them. But... if there is a difference in cost, it can't be much and I'm pretty sure I'd probably spend more than the difference renting or buying the tools to install an upper arm kit (I think you have to break a ball joint). My research pointed me toward the Ingalls, and after almost 3 years and over 60K miles, I would go the same route again.

there's really not a difference in cost.

remeber im wanting more negative camber on the drivers side.

thats why im worried about it getting to wide. short upper arm passenger, longer lower arm drivers. im not actually looking to correct the passenger side more run the passengers camber on both sides.

I have air tools jacks etc so i would probable put them on then take it in for alighnment.
