Tein Basics

I'm thinking of installing these on my '08 TSX that I just purchased. I've heard good things about the basics... But, can anyone tell me what they are like installed?

Is the ride to stiff/rough with the basics? Im just concerned if I have backseat passengers.. will they be bouncing around if I hit bumps..? I just want to be sure I don't waste all this money, if I'm not going to like the ride.

BTW.. I just put on some new RonJon Inspyre wheels with 225/40/18 falken ze 912 tires.

Any reviews are welcome...

i can tell u about tein ss

I had the same concerns when I was shopping for some coilovers. Anyways I ended up buying the tein ss and I seriously love it.
At first I had the damping on the soft setting but now its close to the stiffest and it is not that bad…anyways I can always adjust the stiffness to accommodate people in the back seat.

hey

i just installed the basics in my 07 last saturday.

the ride is more stiff than stock but its definitely bareable.

i actually like it better more stiff it feels better. My friends who rode in the back said it feels pretty good and its not too bouncy or stiff.

but you can definitely tell the difference from stock.

go for it i love them!

I disagree... at most, you'd need the rear kit if you want to bring things back to spec. Camber in relation to tire wear is very debateable as well... many knowledgeable people preach that it's in fact toe - not camber - that contributes to uneven tire wear.

camber will affect tire wear faster than toe. /\

I've got a lot of experience with these coilovers. I gotta say when it comes to ride stiffness in general, you have to take an average of all that you hear. They are not really as firm as the worst account you read, nor are they as soft as the mildest.

Basics and SS are both firmer than stock for sure. But they are not "stiff" suspensions by any means. The SS has the advantage of appeasing the more sensitive and picky customers by going softer than the Basics.

You are actually about 180 degrees off on this. Toe wears WAAAY faster than Camber.
