A-spec Suspension $1086 to $2080

I inquired some $$ information about the Aspec Suspension (2006-AT) from several Acura dealers in Southern California. Hers what I was quoted:
Cheapest dealer: $1086…( $560 + $526 labor/Alignment)
Most expensive: $2080…..($1200 + $880 labor/Alignment)

$560 for the Aspec Suspension is very reasonable. However the labor is a bit too much.
Im afraid if I go to a local shop it might void the warranty on the product and labor.
Did you guys pay this much? Any suggestions?

That's way too much. 560 for Aspec, 180 for install. Find a mom and pop shop or a local shop, do not go to a dealership.

^^^ Thanks for the advice...Yeah the dealer is charging too much for installation. Do you guys know if Sears or Firestone or any other shop would do the job with alignment for a reasonable price? ? and how would that effect my warranty. thanks
I believe It was Valencia Acura. You’ll also find it online and on eBay for little more

Or you could just visit HeelnToe's shop - he's very well respected on the forum!

$560 is a great price but install is a BAD price! I would highly recommend HeelToe if he is close to you and if not go somewhere else but not a Firestone, they don't know suspensions very well. I bet some one in your area could even give you a hand. Heck if i was out there i would do it for you for some food

I got my aspecs for 500 flat no tax. Then labor 180 roughly or you can install it yourself you just need to get the car lifted up.

Don't have it realigned right after installation. Let the suspension settle a bit and then have an alignment done. You may, or may not, need a camber kit. But, yeah, the installation quotes you're getting are very high. You should be able to find a local shop that can do it for around $180 like the others have said.

As has been said don't pay that much for install. I bought the suspension for like $600 shipped from an Acura dealer on eBay and then installed it myself. It's not terribly hard once you get one side done.

While I definitely agree that I wouldn't let firestone do any suspension/brake work, I would take it to Firestone for the alignment just because they offer lifetime alignment for roughly $129. I usually take it to them 2-3 times a yr. Basically if you do it twice then you already get your money's worth.

They work isn't that great, but for alignment, it's easy enough for them to get it right. They use computerized alignment anyway.

As for installation, have you considered trying to install it yourself? It's actually not that bad..

No that’s too much . Don’t go to the Dealer Go to moms & dads/ small mechanic shops. I live in Los Angeles and I’ve gotten some installation estimates ranging from $120 to $180+.

Don’t even buy the A-Spec suspension from the dealer. Remember the least expensive dealer is charging you $560 + (8.25% CA sales TAX) so you will end up paying $ 606.20

I recently placed my order through www.hondacuraworld.com and all what I paid was $ 578.95. I should be receiving my order soon and I am telling you I won’t be going to the Dealership for installation… you kidding me. I might just do it myself or spend $120 and get over with it.

Here is a list of all the questions that I asked the Sales Rep. before placing my order. I hope they will help you

1) The A-Spec suspension is listed at $575 does the price include tax and shipping to CA.
Yes, no tax to CA, and just a 3.95 handling charge per order.

2) How much of a drop would the A-Spec suspension give me on a 2006 AT TSX.
There's no official word, but I've heard 3/4"

3) Just to confirm the package will include: struts, springs, factory warranty and installation Instructions
Correct.

4) How long does it take to ship to Los Angeles CA.
Once ordered, it takes ~2 days to arrive in to us, and about a week's shipping from Buffalo NY

5) Do I need to install the A-Spec suspension at the Acura dealership in order for the warranty to be valid?
Nope, however you should understand that things like alignment wouldn't be covered.

6) Since A-Spec suspension is factory equipment (by Acura)..Does the local Acura dealership honor the parts and the warranty on it.
Absolutely, they're factory Acura accessories, and all dealers must honor the warranties therein.

Adding to what cali4tsx said, or should i say, editing what he said, the drop on the aspec for thw 06 is AT LEAST 1" if not more. I dropped about 1.1"-1.25" all around and its perfect for me!

MOST dealers will honor the full warranty on the aspec suspension but are not required to if you install it somewhere other than in their shop. I asked the guys at my dealership and they said that its fine cause its an acura product however, it only suppose to be honored if its installed by the dealer. They could screw me if i need something fixed but i think acura did a good job designing them, i don't anticipate any issues!

Yeah I agree the drop is no less then 1” on 06-07 . I think the sales Rep. at Hondacuraworld was a bit conservative in his quote or maybe he assumed that it is the same drop for 06-07 as for 04-05. Anyhow ill let you know exactly once I install the Aspec suspension on my TSX.

Can anyone tell me if I need headlight adjustment after the Aspec drop?

I didn't need one (04). If its an even drop, same front & back, then you shouldn't need one either.

You won't NEED one at all, they are still within spec (asked the dealership to check them when i was in for service and they said they were fine) but i turned them up 1.5 rotations with a screw driver myself
