shocks
I started to wonder about my shocks last winter, when my snow tires didn't seem to be working as well as I remembered they should be; that was at 55,000 miles. This summer, with 65,000 miles on my 06, I suspected that something was really wrong - floaty feel on the highway, sloppy turns and lots of understeer, to much brakedive, weight transfer when starting resulting in reduced grip (especially in the wet) and axle tramp.
The dealer said my struts were fine, all the bolts were tight, did an alignment which made no difference, and told me that, installed and tax-in, the A-Spec struts (shocks and springs) would cost me about $2,100 Cdn, including another alignment.
I ordered the A-Spec suspension from curryacuraparts.com, and had them at my door 4 days later, for about $800 Cdn, completely hassle-free. I did the install myself, after a lot of Internet research. The car has been transformed, although I also installed a Progress RSB, too: it is predictable, and a pleasure to drive.
The ride is definately "sharper", and I can feel when I drive over tar-strips/cracks, etc, but I think the car is now the way it should be; I'd not realised how bad things really were, and how unsafe the really soft mushy ride that I had was.
