Rim Refinishing?

Rim Refinishing?
I like the OEM wheels and don't feel like spending a few K to get new wheels. But I've noticed that the color of the OEM 5 stars looks alot better on an Indigo Blue TSX than does the color of the Stock OEM's.
So, would it be possible to refinish the stock OEM wheels in the same or similar color as the 5 stars? and if so any idea on costs?
Sorry if this has been discussed already, could'nt find anything using the search.

Searched on powdercoating and only came with with doing brakes/engine parts. Does'nt mention anything about Rims in the powdercoating Forum sticky in Black Market.
Thanks though.

I was watching Tuner transformation on SPEED last night and they had a Subi STi and they painted the stock rims black. So I guess the rims can be painted but I'm thinking I like the look of the 5 stars which are sort of 2 tone I think.
Something no other TSX has either. Wonder how long the paint lasts.

I've painted my rims with standard PPG paint. My friend has a spray booth and the right equipment so that was the easier part. The hard part was stripping off all the paint (and clearcoat) on the original rims.
The paint does hold up quite well. Powdercoating is a bit tricking on rims that have lots of tiny gaps. But if the 5 star rims have lots of room to work with so it's easier to do. The prep work takes a while. You have to tape off everything you don't want powdercoated or painted, then paint, then remove everything, then clearcoat (clearcoat not needed for powder coating).
Not only did I do the outter rim, I did the inner section as well. This sounds silly but I have to tell you, no build up of any rust or crud occurs now. 2 out of 4 rims balanced out without any weights. Cleaning them now is a snap (I clean them every time I switch rims from summer to winter and back).

Domn, there are a number of rim refinishing places in the GTA. They can paint them whatever colour you'd like. My uncle had the rims for his Volvo repainted and they looked great. I'll ask him where he got them done.
