Replace OEM Tires
Replace OEM Tires
I have an opportunity to replace the stock OEM tires within the first 500 miles. I do not want to sacrifice any handling capabilities but the reality of my situation is that I will put a lot of highway miles on and need all-season. I want only OEM size. Just checking TR, it looks like the Turanza LS-V is a good option. Comments on this tire or any others that might fit my needs? What is the general opinion of the OEM Michelins?
If you browse through this forum you'll see that the stock michelins don't have a good reputation. This thread is a good place to start: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19051

Here's a thread that's been going on recently about the Avid V4S that's been discussed recently
Here's my recommendation on 2 different Yokos:
I've used these on my car:

tire rack review of the Yoko Avid V4S

tire rack review of the Yoko ES100
Read the reviews. I'd take either one all over again.
I currently have the V4S.
If you go with the V4S: use the 215/50/17 93V
If you go with the ES100: go with 225/45/17 93W

I had V rated Turanzas on my Accord, man I hated those things they howled like non-other. They wouldn't stick worth crap, I'd seriously switch to a different choice, I fail to see how the stock pilots are worse then the Turanzas.

Very few OEM tires are particularly good for anything other than achieving the best possible fuel efficiency/emissions testing results.
