Question puncture in sidewall of tire, need quick opinions

I have a puncture in the sidewall of my stock Michelin tire. I have 25k on all 4 tires. Tiresplus is obviously recommending 2 new tires instead of 1 new one.

All they have in stock is the Firestone Firehawk GTA-02. Anyone have these or have opinions on these? What would you guys recommend for a good all-around tire. Don't care much about 1/4 mile times....just ride comfort and traction in all conditions.

thanks!

Did a search and came up with Yokohama Avid V4S. Seems to be what i'm looking for. Better reviews for it than the firehawks and cheaper too!

guess i should have searched first :o

Yes, you should have searched first. And, yes, the Yoko Avid V4S is an outstanding choice.

I have a detailed review of the yoko Avid V4's here.

For the price that they want for 2 stock michelin tires, you can probably get yourself 4 yoko avid V4's from tirerack.

Happened to me 3.
Got a puncture in the front right tire (nail). The tire place wanted $250/ tire stock. Yea... RIGHT! Like i'm going to pay $250/tire i was going to get rid of anyways.

I had the remaining 3 tires up for sale in the black market section since i went ahead and got all 4 new tires. They were available until tonight. Somebody said they were going to send paypal. But if they fall through, they are still up for grabs. I only wanted $50/tire + shipping too. Great deal!
The tires only have 19k miles on them.

Wow this thread is almost like a deja-vu. I had a flat on my rear-right tire, with the sidewall punctured. Had 30K miles on the car. I replaced with a Futura, just so I can change all 4 tires in another 30K miles.
