OFFSET question, need help asap pls.

Im selling a set of Volk GT-N's to a forum member, but we would like to make sure the wheel will fit properly. Since we are not in the same state. Im trying to test them on my gf's tsx, but we live/work on opposite sides of town, and work different hours, so its kinda hard to make the time to do this, with decent light.

18x7.5 Volk GT-N
+43 offset
225/40 tire

basically, id just like to know if this will fit on the guys car. Its an 6spd TSX. Any help is appreciated. thanks!

Pac-man, you mind as well post the pics here if you get a chance to take em... lol that way everyone can see what my car is gonna look like soon and they can

Fury,

A 7.5" 43 offset, especially with a 225 wide tire, will look fine on a lowered car like yours. If you see pics of this wheel on a TSX with standard suspension though, which I'm only assuming his gf has, it will look horrible. There will be a ton of wheel gap, they'll look too small, they'll stick out.

But with your height adjustable Tanabe's, it will be fine.

Oh yeah I know about the gap... I am more interested in the protrustion and color. But yeah, I know it will look kinda funky, I'm ok with that

Don't forget the bolt pattern should be 5x114.3.

Rim size & offset is perfect. Tire will fit, but it's a little too small for the TSX. If the car is lowered, it'll look okay... if not it's going to look funny with that small tire.

I don't mean jack this thread but why is it that a lot of aftermarkt wheels have low number offset? And why is it hard to find anything more than +45 hard to find?

that would be great man just a formality now, cause with everyone's advice I'm sure they won't rub. I just wanna see how much more it sticks out, even if it won't rub. Thanks again!

There are tons of rims with both high and low offsets to accomodate the various FWD, RWD and AWD cars. It is not hard at all to find offsets +45 and greater. What specific rim design are you looking for? I'm pretty sure someone here would be able to find the style you want in the correct offset and size.

really, more cars use offsets in the 30s-45 range more than most. The newer cars that are coming out however are starting to have high offsets, so slowly there should be more and more wheels available with high offsets.

higher offsets are usually FWD, so in a tuner dominated RWD market I'd expect wheels to stay about where they are.
