Nitrogen Filled Tires

Has anyone tried filling their tires with nitrogen instead of air? Apparently nitrogen does not react as sensitively to changing temperatures as air does, therefore tires will not deflate in winter. Futhermore, since there is no oxygen in the tires, oxidization of the rubber will not occur thereby increasing the longevity of the tires. Does anyone recommend this option?

Airplanes uses nitrogen in their tires so they don't catch on fire in case of an accident. I suppose that's one less thing to worry about.

been posted about before. Its a marketing ploy... like global warming. Air is 78% Nitrogen. If you are that worried about air, get an air dryer which removes the humidity from the air.

Gas % of Earth Atmosphere at sea level (dry air)

Nitrogen 78.08
Oxygen 20.95
Argon 0.93
Carbon dioxide 0.03
Neon 0.0018
Helium 0.0005
Krypton 0.0001
Xenon 0.00001
