I'm running 18x8 +40 on the front with 215/40/18. Rears are 225/40/18 with rolled fenders and factory camber and toe specs. I would just tell you to roll your rear fenders and call it a day. It gives you a lot more clearance and gets rid of that annoying 90 degree flat surface in the rear fender.

Of course, not that I condone running 215's on a 8" with a 35 sidewall. I do however, have absolutely no problems with my current set up. In fact, it was 06pwwssshh that gave me the final "go for it" after I asked him if 215 on 8" would be too extreme. keep in mind that your wheels are 19" rather than 18"s...good luck choosing size and brand of tires. Might call for another thread haha.

215's on an 8, your crazy man. I thought I as crazy running 225/40, but your even crazier than me.

I was thining of rolling my fenders, like you said, it would give me a lot more clearance. But I would need a good reputable shop to do it, because I dont want to risk cracking the paint. But I guess I would have do it if I ran 19's. Man, rim size choosing is a b*tch.

I am most likely going to start up another thread for the tires, once I choose the right size rim for me.

I'm sure i can make the rear work.. i can roll the fenders and and get a lil bit of negative camber, but dude the front actually slightly sticks out of the fender. I was going for a pretty flush look, but i didn't think that +42 would stick out.. otherwise these rims are gorgeous!!! goddamn, i'm pretty annoyed though. any thoughts guys? If i can't figure something out, i'm gonna havta sell them.

I've heard of plenty of people on a similar setup with no rubbing issues, wut am I doing wrong?

Sorry for the thread jack.. i'll probably open up a new thread after.
Sorry to hear that.

Roll your rear fenders, tuck the fender liner in the front fenders, and get a front camber kit. That will get your 19's in just fine (but not without some expense, obviously)

F_ING WORK WHEELS>. OMGGGG

so +42... not so bad right? kinda aggressive but not really...

I check the stamp on the wheel

+38!!! WUT THE HELL?!!

i explicitly orderd +42 and it's even on my invoice... So i'm not gonna sell them anymore cuz i'm gonna ask those skeezies for a full refund. I think you'll be fine with 235/35/19 on 19x8 +45

As you guys can probably tell.. .i'm freakin pissedd.. i waited 4 months to get the WRONG wheels

That's brutal man. Good luck getting it sorted out.

I ordered 18x8 +45 Advan Kreutzer X's from Gruppe-S back in 2007. Three months later, I received a set of 18x8 +48 Advan Kreutzer Xi's. I kept them because it had already been three months and I love the Xi's as well. Sorry my situation was a lot easier to deal with than yours, haha.

Wow man, that really sucks. Hopefully you wont have to wait as long for the next set. You should make them pay for express shipping or something for the inconvenience they caused you.

Well that is a relief to hear that they will probably fit. I am looking for a 45 ET anyways, so thats a tad more room, but I am lower than you, so, A little more research will help me.

hey man, i'm looking at some 19s too with similar specs. i'm thinking about running 225/40/19 although tirerack recommends 235/35/19. where are you planning on ordering your wheels from?

Hey dude, so the guy at the wheel shop is refusing to give me a refund despite his mistake. At this point, i'm so mad i don't even want these wheels. he says that he can shave the back pad to a +42 maybe even a +45. What do you guys think that I should do? If i can shave the back pad safely, is anybody interested in picking these up from me? Grenas, if it was you, i'd hook it up pretty fat.

screw the wheel shop, go over his head.
contact the owner of the company, or Work or something.
do not get your rims "shaved" because that's just plain shady.

where did they get ordered from?
I'd create a massive stink.
Ruin some future business for him, negative advertise his place,
he'll come around soon enough.

refuse to make his mistake good?
I don't think so, that's now how business goes.

^^ why not just shave them and keep them man. They look good with the black polish on your black TSX man.

I appreciate the offer man, but I would rather order the color I want and offset I want, and not have to deal with any issues, rather than possibly rolling my fenders.

I would say keep them man, they look good. But either way, good luck.

BTW, you coming to the meet?

Just so some of you in the SoCal area know who and what I'm dealing with, I am in contact with Eric Nareshni of Supreme Power Parts in Placentia, Ca.

well I still think you can make it fit. If I were you, I would roll the rear fenders. You are in SoCal, there should be a few places that can do it for you professionally. If that is not enough, I would run more negative camber in the back.

I find that once you do the necessary modifications, more aggressive setups tend to look better than safe setups.

I definitely know what your saying, but dude, I ordered +42 for a reason. currently my front wheel sticks out of the fender. Not by much, but it sticks out nonetheless. I'm definitely not going to run negative camber on the wheels I steer on. That'll change the way the care feels and drives. I'm also do not want to compromise on the tire size as it poses an unecessary risk on some EXPENSIVE parts. hahaha well, If all else fails, a 3g TL owner is pending sale with me. I'm gonna take a hit, but wutever.

Any recommendation on who to best ship with? Cheapest method? I don't even care if it takes 2 weeks to get there. hahaha.

DHL is the cheapest and slowest service.
Their ground service is real cheap, but it's also slow.

I like to use the USPS myself.
Their parcel post service is a good deal and it's pretty cheap too.

each and every carrier has a rate calculator.
tell it the size of the box, the weight, the start and end destinations,
and it will give you a good idea of the cost and time.

So I have finally decided on everything except one little part, the offset.

I can go with and offset I would like. I was thinking of running a +48, so if I need more clearance for the BBK, I could throw a spacer on, and still not have any rubbing.

So does everyone think +48 is good?

I do.
I'm not into rolling fenders and removing plastic linings and such.
both my AME's and my Volk's are running a +48 offset.

It's more than worth it when I read about these problems with offsets
that are only a couple mm's less.

like a couple mm's really makes any sort of visual difference anyway...
it really doesn't.

typically, for +48 on TSX you might need 5-10mm or even15mm spacer to clear bbk.
but it also depends on the caliper size and spoke design too

Rolling my fenders is my last resort. I am trying to find the perfect offset to run, so that they will clear the BBK and still look fairly flush.

Well I was thinking of running a higher offset, measuring the clearance I need, and then get the spacers accordingly

45 does look great, its what I am running now. My only concern is the clearance for the BBK. So I figured running a higher offset would allow me more free play with the BBK.
