Question Nakayama Vador

These wheels are available in different offsets and bolt patterns. Which one(s) will fit best on the TSX?

http://www.tiretrends.com/wheel_cata...1U&wheelID=142

Ideally I'd like to go with a 17" to save cost on wheels and tires but I'm not sure which one fits...

Exactly

both the 17 x 7 - 5x114.3 and 18 x 7.5 - 5x114.3 wheels will fit
Ok, so the bolt pattern has to be 5x114.3.

What about the offset though? It seems like they come in 42 mm and 40 mm, aren't the stock 17x7 wheels 45 mm? With a smaller offset, will these wheels look too indented, or would they rub against the inside walls? The difference is only 3mm but still...

I should be able to take my OEM tires and put them on those wheels, right? (I know it's better to get real summer rubber but this might be easier to explain to the wife )

Stock is 55mm offset so these would stick out 13mm (1/2") farther than stock. Plus the wheel is another 1/2" wider so you would be sticking out 3/4" total. I think you might run into some rubbing issues here. Your OEM rubber would work fine.

Question: how would a smaller offset on the Nakayama make the wheel stick out more? According to Tire Rack, a smaller offset means they're more on the inside, no?

No. The TSX already has a large positive offset. In other words, the axle attachment is farther out than the exact midline of the wheel. Thus, less wheel offset will force the edge of the wheel to stick farther out from the wheel.

Also, I'm running an 18"x7.5" +48mm with 235mm tires and it looks near stock, with the front wheels being flush with the fender edge.

Actually, if you look at the illustration, the offset is the distance between the two mounting surfaces. Since the TSX comes stock with a 55mm offset, to go to a 45 mm offset means you lose 10mm of the distance between the mounting surfaces. This translates into more of the wheel being on the outer/front part of the setup, causing the wheel to stick out more. However, judging by the pictures that dabuda provided, the difference in offset doesn't affect the look too much.
