My friend's had ASA AR1's (silver w/ machined lip) on his Mini Cooper S for 3+ years now... including during the winters. There's not even a paint chip on 'em, and he's quite the spirited driver. I'd say quality is very good. I know a lot of blokes are fans of "bigger" names a la Volk, Work, SSR, etc., but some of these smaller companies' cast wheels shouldn't be discounted...

Btw, I'm also biased in that I love mesh wheels...

especially with the rivets... I'd rather have the simplicity of a wheel w/ no rivets, cleaner look, easier to clean so it'll look nicer for a longer period w/o much work.

cleaning my mesh wheels w/ rivets was a pain --- but now i use a powerwasher, and it's a piece of cake. no chips on the face, etc... closing in on 2 years

I had ASA AR1s and loved the look - but hated to clean them. Sort of like the color of the car (black), I said "never again."

If you do decide on them, get them in at least 18", preferably 19". Since the spokes don't go to the edge of th wheel, they'll look a bit smaller than they actually are.

Did you blast them w/ the pressure washer only? We have a pressure washer, I tried cleaning my wheels with it, but it practically doesnt take off anything... the shammy got really dirty. So I still had to scrub them to loosen up the brake dust.

^^^Yep... just the pressure washer, and a normal spray-on wheel cleaner. I'd let the cleaner sit for 30 seconds or so, then blast with the pressure washer. Maybe it's the PSIs your pressure washer has?

Actually... as I was writing this, I also should mention that someone recommended to me that I wax my wheels after washes... makes removing brake dust, etc. a breeze. I think Tire Rack sells wheel wax.

The only problem I have is it takes more time to clean the rims compared to washing the entire car.

Here are some Pics of my 06 with ASA AR1 chrome 17in rims

+ 1 - it's not cool to have small mesh wheels

Im not sure of the quality of the wheel but the weight is decent and it does look really good. Reminds me of the Gramlight 57S
