A decent shop should run $100-200 for installing both shocks/springs. And $50-$100 for the camber kit. Over here in Cali, I got a quote for $150 for both suspension and camber installed.

No way can you get shocks/springs done for under $200. I asked two shops what it would cost to get aftermarket springs and shocks put on and the best one shop could do was maybe $300, but most likely over that. The other shop said at least $500. No way am I going to pay that much so I'm going to read up and then do the install myself in 2-3 weeks.

This is very true. Many speed shops are willing to install springs/shocks for about $100-$200. I've had spring/shocks installed at an alignment shop and they charged me $120 + $50 for the alignment.

Even at these low prices, I messed around with my suspension on my cars so much, I got tired of paying. So, I've been doing it it on my own now for a while now. Everytime, I still wonder if it's worth the hassle b/c it is always time consuming. But, at least I know that I torqued things to spec and I did the job the way I want it done.

Just goes to show what a total rip-off it is for shops to charge $300+ for suspension installation.

The worse is when they charge the same full rate for the A-spec installation which does not require any disassembly/reassembly of the shocks/springs.

If installing springs and/or shocks costs $100, installing the A-spec suspension should be no more than $50 because it would take about 1/2 as long.

Virtual,

Too bad you aren't in Southern California. There would be more than a few of us willing to help you install it.

It's hard to say. Not all installation quality is equal even the parts being put on are the same. OTOH, a shop that charges more doesn't always mean better quality. However, a shop that charges less doesn't mean you are getting a better deal if they didn't perform a professional install.

I'd say a fair price for a professional install of shocks & spring is about $150 - $175. A-Spec install is about $100 - $125. A full coilover is around $150 - $175 due to the extra pre-install and post-install height adjustments.

Front camber kit should be around $100 as the entire shock/spring assembly and control arm have to come out.

Rear SPC camber kit should be around $65. Rear Ingalls should be $65 as well.

Yeah, being in Cali must be a totally different import scene. Its tough to round up the crowd for a decent meet here in the northeast, but I still have my for our upcoming meet in May.

I still have some other performance shops in the Boston area to check. So I may still take it to a shop if the prices are under $200.

SPC replaces a top link and requires a ball-joint removal tool, but still a relatively straightforward install. I've read of rust problems with SPC; one guy said like three months, so he just repainted it, and also one report of the grease seals drying out and leaking-I think he replaced the SPC seals with the stock seals to solve that.

Ingallls replaces two lower links, which don't require a ball joint puller, but the best thing about this is that you can not only adjust camber, but also toe, neither of which you can do from the factory. I can't recall any issues with Ingalls kits.....

Regardless which kit is used, they both have one common problem with the innermost lock nut toward the frame. The lock nut is somewhat blocked by the frame bracket (upper for SPC, lower for Ingalls) and makes it difficult to tighten or loosen. I would recommend checking this lock nut after the alignment is done. I would also recommend putting a marking (white-out or paint) on the adjustment shaft and the lock nut for quick reference to make sure it didn't move from vibration.

wow, that's way too much. just finished installing my coilovers, took about 4hrs w/ some kinks at a easy pace. i should be pretty good and installing springs now that I've done it twice. if you wait till later you can do it yourself at the installfest, uncompressing the springs is the most tedious part, the rest is just bolting and unbolting.

Im gonna get the sportlines installed now, (250 w/ camber) and not buy the neuspeed konis, instead at the end of the summer I'll buy coilovers. I just got fuzions for my wheels mounted and balanced and i need a drop baddd and as soon as possible

Why not just save the money now and wait til the end of summer to get the coilover? The sportline is going to blow your stock shocks in no time.

that's more or less what i did, but w/ less drop on the pro kit. its less expensive, but i did it b/c installation was free, I wouldn't want to pay for installs twice.
