Question Help for an ex TSXer!

Hi guys,
after owning a 04,05,06 and 07 TSX, I decided to switch my ride for an 07 Accord V6 6 speed as my daily driver (my 07 TSX was stolen in my driveway 2 weeks ago ).

So here's the situation

The stock accord tires are the same size as the stock tires as the TSX. My girlfriend got me a set of forged 18X7 42mm wheels. I would like to get either 215/45/18 or 225/45/18 tires. I beleive both can fit the wheels and can be mounted on the accord without issues. On the other hand, since the wheels are 7 inches wide, I'm a little worried with the 225 size. I know that this width is ok for a 7 inch wide wheel but does the sidewall bulge at all (aesthetic wise)?

Does anyone have a pic of a 225/45 mounted on a 7 inch wide wheel?

I've been searching every accord and TSX forums I could find but without success...

Since you guys are probably the most knowledgeable people I know, I figured you may have a pic or some input to my dilema.

I posted the question on an accord board but did not get any feedback.

Please please please some feedback or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and by the way, the wheels are Centerline Excel.

Thanks a million

Luc

You can check the spec page of the tire you're interested in to see if a 7" wheel is within the recommended size range. Haven't used the size tires you're considering, but I have used the same width tires in 17" size (not on the TSX) on a 7.5" wide wheel. I know Tire Rack recommends a 7.5" wide wheel for the 215/45x18; probably at least this size or maybe even an 8" wheel for the 225 I'd guess. The 215 would probably look OK, the 225 would most likely have a noticeable sidewall bulge.

I'm running General Exclaim UHP tires in 225/45/17 size on my OEM wheels and there is no sidewall bulge, it looks completely flush with the rim face. I highly recommend these tires too, they've been fantastic in the last 6,000km's.

I'm in a suburb of Montreal called Laval. It happened while I was sleeping (between 2am and 6am)... I couldn't beleive it myself.

almost as amazing is the fact you've had every model year TSX. Get bored easily?

I like to change my cars often (as you can see). I don't think I even kept a car for more that 18 months. The only exception is the NSX (I don't think I'll ever get bored).

I was going to wait to get a new Accord model (08) but wasn't sure if the 08 V6 sedan would come with a 6 speed in Canada. Anyway, I'm probably going to change my accord within the next 18 months :-)
