G-Games Sidewinders vs. Axis Decades
I'm torn between these two wheels for my '06 TSX:
G-Games Sidewinders
Axis Decades
They look similiar, though the Axis wheels look more like the 2-pc Sidewinders which I prefer over the 1-pc wheels.
From what I've been reading Axis wheels are knock-offs while G-Games are the lower-end brand from Ray's, so I don't know which ones would be more durable.
I found the G-Games (+48) on wheelsdirectonline packaged with Kumho AST 225/40/18s, and I found the Axis (+45) on eBay packaged with Goodyear Essenza 210 225/40/18s for about $200 more than the G-Games.
What do you guys think? Please help a clueless noob out...

Yeah, I realized they look the same (as I mentioned in my original post). That's why I'm thinking the Axis wheels are knock-offs of the G-Games 2-pcs.
The reason why I probably won't get the 2-pc Sidewinders is because they only come in 19" (disco the 18").

I'm just wondering if going with the Axis wheels will piss me off in the long run because of questionable durability. Also, the Axis have a lip so I want to know if they might look smaller than they should because of this.

they are discontinued in 19s also, if its the look you like, i would choose the axis because the g games are discontinued, and if you bend a rim, you wont be able to replace it, at least with the axis you can.....dont get me wrong, i love my sidewinders, but i'm affraid of bending or damaging it then i'm screwed

Really? Last time I talked to Discount Tire, they told me they were expecting a shipment of the 2-pc 19" Sidewinders in a few weeks. Where did you hear the 19s were disco as well?
I do prefer the look of the Axis over the 1-pc Sidewinders, but I'm still kinda worried that the Axis are of lesser quality (as someone at WheelsDirect.com told me) and that they'd be more prone to bend than the G-Games wheels. What do you think?
(btw, hawaiian, seeing your car is the reason why I wanted the 2-pc Sidewinders in the first place ...love the way they look on a SSM/ASM)

Just curious...why does everyone say the G-Games?
Is it because:
a) Axis are knock-offs.
or
b) G-Games are of superior quality.

The 18'' axis liped knocked off will probably look small on the TSX. Even the 1 piece sidewinder looks OK. 19" is best looking size.
Try to see which Wheels is more expensive. I dont see any reason those knockoff cost more. Try to compare with the same type of tires.

I've had Axis wheels in the past. Every single car I've ever owned has had aftermarket rims on. I've had SSR, Work, BBS, Enkei, Axis, Borbet, and Impul rims. The Axis rims were the ONLY rims I've ever had problems with. I cracked the lip on my Axis rims - TWICE! None of the other rims ever bent or cracked so I would say that Axis rims would probably be less durable than the G-Games made by Volk.
The thing I don't like about Axis rims in general is that they are trying to upmarket their brand. They cost more than cheap knockoffs like Rotas or ASA or HP Racing, et. al, but they are really no better in terms of quality and durability.
Get the G-games. I also agree w/ those who mention that the larger lip on the Axis will make the rim look smaller.
