Clicking Noise?????
I bought TSX.Fury's wheels and they are most amazing looking. And the Goodyear's ride great. However.... I have had trouble with a clicking noise coming from what sounds like the caliper hub area. It only happens when I turn (on the wheel getting the weight) or go over a bump.
I have tried:
-Different lugs.
-With and without hub rings
-Different torque settings
-Put the stock wheels back on and the noise was gone ????
-Put two of my wheels on the front of my buddies Accord and the clicking was the same on his car.
This happens at all speeds too.
Any suggestions would really help as I am at a loss. The Big O people don't have a clue either. They think I should take my calipers apart???? I don't feel the click in the steering wheel and I don't have a shimmy either. The car rides smooth.
Anyone????
Thanks,
Chris

There is a large gap, about 2.5 inches between the spokes and the caliper. That was what the guy at BigO first thought but when he looked at it physically he said there was plenty of room for everything and nothing was even close to rubbing.

Hmmm yeah this is wierd. I never had any problems with clicking, and yeah Dan there is a massive gap, at least enough for a BBK plus some, so that can't be it. Hopefully you will get some more advice soon, I can't imagine what it could be...

I had the same problem--my cv boot broke and the sound was actually my bearings rolling around loosely in there. It was a big enough problem that they had to hold my car and give me a loaner before I could get it back (took 2 days). I would get it looked at by a tech immediately--sounded potentially dangerous.

I would check the center caps to see if they're loose first...if its not the center caps, then place the wheels back on the car and with the car still lifted spin the wheels to see if you can find anything making contact while the wheels are spinning...also you might check the air valve stem...some stems are located inside the wheel where you would have to use a shortened air valve stem or hidden valve stem to clear your calipers...

I have checked the centercaps for loosening and for the classic prank of filling them with rocks etc. The click is still there with them on or off. If the cv boot was broke wouldn't it do the same thing with the stock wheels on because the sound doesn't exist with the stock wheels on. It seems like any problem relating to the hub/bearings would carry over to the stock setup.
I forgot to mention that somehow through all the trial and error the passenger side rear wheel is quite as can be. No more clicks in that wheels, so it is just the fronts and the rear driver side. The sound didn't exist until I had driven about 150 miles then it started in the fornt and progressed to the rear after about another 100 miles.
Thank you for all your input by the way. I greatly appreciate it!

the fact that your friend's accord makes the same sound means its most likely a problem w/ the wheels and not your car. your splinedrive lugs are fine, I have two sets and never had a problem.

well im just goin to suggest the nail or screw problem again. Or there just could be pebbles wedged in between the threads. Either case i know can be likely or unlikely. Give it a quick lookover.

Actually, I was working on it last night and went to tighten the caliper bolts a bit and the noise it made when it broke free is almost the exact same "click". So I retorqued hoping it was the problem but no luck.
Is it possible the the ends of the lug bolts could be loose? I didn't really look at them when putting in my RB rotors but I assume they are pressed in and unable to rock. I could be wrong though.

If the click goes away with the stock wheels/tires. I'm thinking it must be the after market wheels/tires. You may want to check the balancing weights on the rims..........to see if they are loose.

For anyone interested I have finaly fixed this damn problem. Took more than half a year but I had to ignore it for some time. It was literally driving me nuts. Turns out it was the valve stems. They were the type that screw on from behind with two thin nuts. Apparently the lock nuts were not tight enough and became more loose as I drove over more bumpy roads causing them to make a clicking noise. Anyways, for anyone having this problem I hope you read this thread. And for the record tire stores just suck!

I was wrong, the noise is still there. I was able to drive back and fourth in my driveway with no noises but once I pulled out the entrance off my driveway onto the main road the noise started again. This is what leads me to think it is the mounting points (Lug holes). You can see in the holes how it looks like someone tightened them down too much and have created marks where the lugs seat. To be clear, the WHEELS ARE NOT FIXED.
