Bridgeston Potenza Pole Position AS Review
These tires are amazing. I got them in stock size and have put on about 500 miles on them already. The traction in wet is excellent and will actually not slide around in slushy and snowwy weather as I took a trip up to vermont this week. The treads are thick, much thicker than the OEM ones. Got them for 800 installed. Expensive but well worth the money. My mileage actually improved ironically...65 mph on 5 hour trip with salt all over the car, with 4 guys totallying about 700lbs in the car, with 2 snowboards with boots and 4 bags of clothing lead to an avg MPG of 32 MPG both ways.

I have 20K miles on mine already. They are wearing in well and have maintained all the things I liked about them when new. Quick turn-in, excellent response, not too loud (these are Honda's we are driving and ALL Honda's are loud on the road), good in the wet. I live in Seattle so I can give a very honest and knowledgeable opinion about that last topic.
Firestone has stood behind them and rotated them regularly for free, so I'm a quite satisfied owner. Would purchase them again. I'm HOPEFUL that in another 40K miles when it's time for new ones they have come down in price.

I am thinking of getting those tires. Do you see noticeable differences with the stock Michellins? It rains a lot here in Portland, OR so I think it is worth it even though I have about 8000 miles on the michellins. Are these the tires you guys are talking about? http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...r=50&tc=BRIHZC

Here are the reviews for this tire.

According to the road noise in the reviews, it is at a minimum. They also said that it is a sporty looking tire so it should be fine on the TSX.

Ok. Anyways, I just took some pictures of the tire and it works like a charm. I was able to test the traction on wet surfaces today and it does its job. Great tire if you can afford it. I think it is well worth it where I live (Portland, OR).

I got a set in November and have been really happy with them so far. I've actually noticed that I'm not jarred as much when going over a bump that I can't avoid daily. Perhaps this was a function of my old tires being worn, but it's nice anyway. They do fine in the snow, even though they're not really suppoesed to. I guess that's partially a result of the TSX's excellent control in bad weather and not the tires (the TSX handles way better than my V8 4x4 all time Grand Cherokee in snow and ice, at least when the snow isn't a foot deep).
Plus, I really like my local Firestone and you get free tire rotation there. I opted for the lifetime alignment, and that gets you one alignment a year or more if needed.

I can feel more control when I drive on wet surfaces. I wonder if I siped the tires, whether it improve more traction and a smoother ride. I didn't want to take a chance of siping the tires since I know without it, it's already a good tire. VSA definitely plays a role in handling on snow and rain too. I wanted these tires and turn on VSA so that I get the ultimate traction possible from my TSX.

By reading the other thread, this tire is heavier and may lose MPG but it feels more solid on the ground when driving. I feel like driving a tank as I felt when I owned a german vehicle. It feels really solid when driving.

For the curious, I'm one of those strange people who own more than 1 TSX. I have a '04 6MT and my wife drives a '06 AT. She still has the OEM Michelin's on her car (has about 30K on it already). I have the RE960AS Pole Positions on my car.
The Potenza tire is superior in the following ways:
1. It is more responsive. My car is much quicker to turn in than my wife's. It feels like the car is "up on it's toes" to use a sports analogy. If you like to drive a little aggressively, it makes things a little more fun.
2. It has better wet traction. I live in Seattle where we do get a lot of rain, particularly during this time of year. I have to REALLY work to get my car to hydroplane, but it seems my wife's car hydroplanes easier.
3. Noise seems to be about the same. I was hopeful the Potenza would be more quiet, but my ears can't tell any difference.
4. The price is the same. I looked on line, at Costco, etc.... and just went to Firestone and got the Bridgestone's. Same price, but a better tire.
I also got the lifetime alignment at Firestone. Nice to keep all the wheels pointed in the right direction.
Those of you thinking of purchasing these tires on-line, go to a Firestone place first. They will meet any on-line price (at least the place I worked with did). Better to work with a dealer of the tire that is local than some distant on-line place. Just my opinion.

I agree with Roundy, I get full synthetic oil changes at my wonderful Bloomington, IN Firestone and have been really happy with the service. I've gone to the same store for probably a decade now and they go above and beyond the call of duty for me.

I also got the same setup...great so far. I put in maybe 200 miles and handling feels a lot better. Road noise is less. I think the biggest difference is the grip in wet and dry conditions. BEST bank for buck for all season tire.

I just got these tires today in 215/50/17 and I'm loving them! I never knew the TSX could be more responsive than it already is.
I bought them for $721 at my local firestone dealer... when I called about them, the guy was like "The total cost would be $911 w/ installation" but after hearing me ALMOST saying "oh my GOD!" then he added "if you come down now, i'll knock off $108" plus another 10% discount w/ Firestone card. Great deal ^_^

I also just purchased these tire a week ago. WOW what a difference.
Thanks to everybody for leading me in the right direction.
It's amazing, it's like a new car 50K on the clock!!!

i got them put on by the dealer when I bought my 08 nhb AT in Sept. 2007. Traded my oem michelins back to the dealer...long story short, the tires are fantastic! I cannot compare to the oem michelins since i never drove on them, but having driven audi's and bmw's with stock michelins, these tires have fantastic wet/dry traction....as far as road noise, don't notice anything too bad....the wind noise from the windows is the worst, however.
all in all, highly reco these tires...btw, i have oem size 215/50/17.

How are these tires in a couple inches of slush?
Thinking of getting them. Switched out the OEM tires with the AvonTech MS550s but after 27000 miles they show some wear. I have 2 bubbles in my left front tire. I guess from pot holes.
LuvMyTsx what are the winter tires you use with the TSX?

I spend 2 much time here
just got the polo positions installed on my car the other day. i think they are a HUGE improvment over my falken tires. i really did not care for the falkens at all, they felt very sluggish, harsh & noisy.
the pole positions make my car feel much more nimble and the ride comfort is better and they are quiet. two thumbs up from me so far!!!
