Talking Blown shocks - sensible replacement?

Blown out the front shock on my '05 TSX last week. Budget is kinda tight so fancy coil-over is not in the cards. I am looking for sensible shocks/struts replacement that plays nice with stock ride height and springs. Also, I plan on slapping in a Progress RSB. Basically, looking for a big bang for cheap bucks upgrade without compromising the ride too much.

Any recommendations or first hand experience would be greatly appreciated!

I have always liked Koni's. I do not have any history with a TSX though.

Koni's are really nice, but cost double what my recommendation would be: Tokico HP's ("blues"). They are under $100/corner, handle great IMO, are NOT bouncy on my car (some say they are on their cars, but mine are 100% smooth).

I don't think you'll find a better bang-for-buck shock that works with stock height (or lowered) as well as these.

Agreesome with Curls and we have the same setup as well as another member on here (Shy). I'm happy with them so far and they've been on for 9 months and driven across country on.

+3 on the Tokico blues and Tein shocks. Had them on for a year now and I have never regretted it.

And again, I will strongly disagree on the Tokico blues. On my car, they are very bouncy. Quality control issue or simply not compatible with stock springs, I don't know. But beware. This could waste close to $1000 with labor and all the small parts you need to replace.

I'd go with Koni's but they're a bit on the expensive side. If you plan to keep your car for a long time, save a little more and get the Koni's. The koni's will give you the option to further upgrade your car, ie: lowering spring.

I myself ride on the Neuspeed Koni w/ neuspeed sport spring. at the softest settings on all corner, it's softer than stock while lowered! If you do get the koni's, a lot of people set their dampening settings to 1.5 revolution in the front, 1 in the rear for the perfect balance of comfort and performance handling.

I ride on 1 11/12 revolution in the front, 1.25 in the rear. I drive by myself so i dont mind a little bit of harshness once in a while to gain the additional handeling.
