American Racing 'Split' 18 x7.5 +45mm
Hi Folks,
Wheels are on... The ones my wife originally picked out, the AMR 'Casino', was on back-order and was quite a bit more expensive. After sharing with her the feedback some folks on the site shared regarding fitment, it wasn't too diffficult to talk her into these. Plus, they're somewhat close in styling to the A-Spec ones we both really liked. Anyway...here they are:
The tires are Kumho Ecsta SPT 225/45-18s. Here are a couple of shots after cleaning up a bit:
After 50 miles I'm really pleased with the ride quality of the tires. I like the look of the rims, although the open design really makes me want to park some larger rotors in there.

Have you noticed any kind of rubbing on turns at all...lets say like out of a driveway for example??? I did the same sort of thing on my previous car with the slightly taller tire and I rubbed a tiny bit on turns.

No rubbing under any conditions so far. No drop in performance or economy that we can tell. More important, no decrease in ride quality. Seems to be the perfect combo...for us anyway. There were certainly a lot more tire options in 225/40, but I wanted the taller tire, both for looks and ride quality.

Looks pretty good. Better choice than those other ones. Can you take a closer pic of the tire/wheel well from the side of the car. I wanna see if the offset makes the tires stick out from the wheel well or not. As for the 45 series tires, MEATY!
