Advice on replacing OEM tires...
Although I've only got about 24K on the OEM Michelin's, I am getting tired of the road noise. It seems from other posts that the tires have as much to do with this as anything. Priorities are:
1) Quietness
2) Treadlife
3) Handling in rain (no need for snow handling in Texas)
I am considering:
Yokahama V4S
Yokahama YK520
Yokahama S.Drive
Continental Premier Contact
Falken ZE-912
All but the Falken's are about $125, the Falken's are $90 or so. What would be your recommendations based on my criteria and price? By the way, I'm somewhat biased towards Discount Tire.

Dont go with the 912's if u want a better tire from falken get the fk452. they will last ufff and no road noise.
The yokohama S-drive are nice.. thats the upgrade from the ES-100. The ES-100 was noisy dont know about the S-drive, but it seems that performs better than the ES-100
Consider the Sumitomo Hrtz-III, reliable and pretty good in rain and dry.
Continental tires are kinda expensive, IMO you are better going with the S-drive, falkens or sumitomos.

if its only between those id try one of the yokohomas, maybe conside the higher end bridgestones, ive always had good experiences with them.
continentals always get bubbles in them. and falkens have very soft sidewalls, feels like driving on jello, just my 2c

THe Falken FK452 was engineer design for luxury low vehicles. The sidewalls are reinforced for negative camber.
Threadwear is 400.
This tire last me a long ass time...
If you are looking for something to last you a while go for it.
I even have a buddy of mine with 20k mile on them and they look like new..

I had the FK452s on my M3 and I was very disappointed in them. They were loud, not good in the rain and poor traction in the rain. For tread wear, the fronts (staggered) were about 30-40% worn at 12,000 miles and the rears were at the wear bars.
Have you looked at the BFG G-sport A/S?

I've actually been leaning towards spending the extra $$$ and getting some Michelin Primacy's w/60K mile warranty. They seem to be smooth, quiet, and reliable tires. I'm not looking for a sport tire, rather a tire that's good on the highway.
I had Michelin Destiny's on my 01 TL and they were great. The Primacy's seem to be the equivalent for the TSX size. They also get great reviews.
Any thoughts?
