225/45/17 on stock rims
Hi
i just wanted to clarify this...so do the 225/45/17 size tires will fit on the stock OEM rims? i read on some posts that the overall diameter is a bit smaller but im thinking if one lowers it with eibach pro kit or some lowering kit that does not drop a lot im thinking it might look good.
Please let me know if 225/45/17 will fit on the stock OEM rims. THANK YOU

It will fit but the sidewall may stick out just a bit but is should look cool.
I wouldn't get them simply because a smaller tire will make your odometer gain milage faster. I'd get a z-rated OE sized tire instead.

I have 225/45/17 Falken Azenis Sports on my car and the sidewalls don't stick out at all. In fact they look a lot better then the wimpy stock tires. Plus people see they tread on them and they ask me about the Azenis, they think I'm insane to have this hardcore of a tire on a family sedan. I don't know about the rest of you but I need autocross tires to go to work and school

The speedometer isn't my fear, it's the odemeter I worry about you are now gaining mileage faster.

225s are generally 1/2 inch shorter than the 215 stocks that come on the car. They WILL work on the stock rims, and if you don't mind your speedo being a little fast, you'll be fine. I don't think you'll even notice a big difference in the looks of it to be honest.

Just for comparison, here are some random tires in 225/45/17 taken from Tirerack... Note the overall diam. and rev per mile numbers. The same 225/45/17 doesn't mean they are the same dia. As you can see, you can come close to the stock dia with the right tires. Also, has anyone verified the stock tires actually produced accurate mph using a GPS? I know my stock tires on my other cars didn't...

Seeing at how many people use 225-45-17, really has me thinking hard about using my Goodyear winter ICE grips 215-55-16 as winter tires, they are even closer to stock then the 225-45-17 meats.
Now I just need to find a set of Honda/Acura 16" that will fit and complement the TSX well.
alnug: It may be just me but I can definately tell the type-S UK spec tyres are smaller on the sidewall then the US spec tyres. But maybe it's just your photo angles.
And for all the b**ching folks do about the V-rated Pilots stock on the TSX, I think this is a great tire. I have 225-40-18 Z-rated tires on my Accord coupe and it is so nice to have a quiet smooth riding TSX OE tire. Granted it is just winter here and my Accord is in storage so comparison is hard to do, but it's wonderful to not have my teeth shaken out like I do with my Koni sport-Eibach spring-type S - 18's on my Accord.
