17x7.5 Forged Work Emotions (16.5 lbs)

I happened to stumble upon this ad at clubrsx.com:
http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=413470

They're 5x114.3, 17x7.5, 48 offset. I've always like the Rota Torques / Emotions, but always felt they were too heavy (and expensive) in the CR (cast) version. I might be out of excuses.

Looking for some feedback...
1. Since the forged version was discontinued sometime ago, does that translate into being SOL if a rim bends?
2. The wheels are stripped. If I want to use them in silver, will I require a clear coat applied?

btw - I have no affiliation with the seller nor do I know anything about him/her.

NO. If it bends, I know a shop in Pennsylvania that can fix it no prob. They also do refinishing, painting, etc... I've used them myself on my first set of Volks and their workmanship is excellent. FYI, after you pick these up, pay for having them repainted, and pay for shipping 4 wheels, you might as well get a set of 17" or 18" Volks new for the same price. I got 18X8.5 CE28Ns 16.1 lbs each- lighter and bigger! Or you can go 17X7.5 around 13 lbs each. Just food for thought.

Thanks for the feedback, man.

I've been considering CE28NF's that are similar to yours, but the spokes extend all the way outside.

Anyone know if clearcoat is a must if I'm not changing the color (powdercoating)?

Yeah you should def get them clearcoated... or else you're looking at cracking/ peeling paint and then eventualy rust.
