'06 Rim scraped, best way to repair?
Yep and all my fault as I slightly grazed a curb, I am so pissed at myself. The scrap on the rim is where the tire and rim meet, I think it could be sanded and repainted in that area pretty easily, what is the best way to repair or where should I take it to be repaired (dealer/body shop/?). Thanks

dont feel so bad...my dad scraped 3 of my rims but it's ok. the first time you do it, it hurts but then after that it's not so bad anymore. unless you know what you're doing with sanding and repainting, i would leave it to the professionals.

curbing blows but its rarely noticeable and a sign of a frequent driver. its inevitable for your rims to get scratched up sooner or later. as for doing anything id just let it go, not worth the money to get it slightly fixed and not worth the risk of doing it yourself

I'd say don't repair it yet. I got some scratches here and there, yet it's pain in the ass to look at them, but chances are if you fix it now, you will scrape them again later. So I'm waiting for the right moment, just before I sell my tsx.
oh and if I remember correctly, if you go for a little wider tires, they help prevent scraping the wheels.

Fixed.
Immature is a word.
You'll encounter rim scrapes sooner or later. I've had my 06 for a full year, starting tomorrow, and I have a couple rim scrapes, and I absolutely love my 06 rims. At first I was really frustrated and angry I actually ended up jamming my left hand from... uhh yeah let's leave that part out. But after a while, such instance like a lady cornering me in a section, and I had no choice but to bump the curb, horribly scraped my rim, going on a Acurazine Drive and Cruise where my tire was blown from a huge rock in the grassy area and my rim was scraped from that as well. These things will come regardless. Of course, these things can be avoided like J says, but sometimes, hey, we all make mistakes. Don't take it too hard.

I suspect that rim guards would help in some circumstances, but probably not prevent a really bad scrape.
I scraped one rim a bit and was ticked, but left it alone. Then I scraped another one really badly, and got tired of looking at it, since it was all rough. I sanded it myself, just a bit, and I can't really say that I knew what I was doing. At least it is smoother now. You can still tell it's messed up, but now you don't really notice it unless you try, where before, it really stuck out.
Is there a kind of paint that you can use to restore the finish? I assumed I was SOL....
I should put up some pics, but I don't really want to encourage people to follow my lead. I mean, I just wanted it to not look so rough, while others might want it to look like new, in which case you should not do like I did.
