wut a big speedy jeep! compared to my 1994 land cruiser that i used to have

 

an escalade ext smoked me...

 

Just like to point out that my old 4Runner would smoke both.

 

the 05' 4Runner will win, this thing has an upgraded V8 with VVT-i which has 270hp.

 

I think that the 05 would win too. That VVti really makes the V8 powerful. I test drove it since i was thinking about buying the new 05 4runner, it seems as if it's almost too powerful. You hit the gas and the 4runner feels like it really wants to take off. I think they oughta tone it down a little. Either that or change the ratios on the gears to make the 4runner make more use of the torque instead of hp. Everything on the new one feels light to the touch. Including steering, and gas pedal. It's just too light for it to feel like a truck. I like the feel of my 2000 better. It feels much more solid. The 05 4runner's light and nimble feeling doesn't give it a solid feel.

 

The 4-runner sadly, will probably win.

 

Dunno, just got into an "off the line" contest with a white V8 4-runner last night (can't tell if it was 2004 or 2005). I was at the intersection, of one of those roads that goes from 2 lanes to 1 lane 200 feet after the intersection. The 4-runner pulled up beside me at the light, and it was obvious that the 4-runner wanted to take point. Normally, I don't care, but last night I was feeling one of my rare "caveman" moments. I won (thanks to SS!). I suspect a lot would depend on the drivers in such a contest.... Perhaps I got lucky.

 

Wow. At least they're not in the position where the V6 made more power than the V8 anymore. That was funny...

 

Just be careful... TRD does make a Supercharger for the V8 4Runner, never know who might have it! I left my 4Runner unmarked to surprise the riceboys with the slammed Civics and Eclipses.

 

I have a 2003 4runner Sport Ed. V6 on 22's, i gotta say with the 22's, it still has a punch to it. Toyota makes one of the best SUVs out there, the 4runner are one of them.
