i dont usually race many people but tonight i was on my way home and as i left a light that just turned green i noticed this white SUV trying to pass me off the light so i nailed it. i was suprised he kept up to my rear bumper but wasnt gaining on me. we came to another light and this time i was expecting a launch. i got about 1 car on him by 2nd gear and in 3rd i pulled another 1 car length or so.
i came home to look up a Murano on the net to see what they are rated for because it was pretty fast. it has 245 HP and does a 1/4 in 15.9 secs. oddly enough a comparo to the honda pilot which i also own and they said both cars run nearly identical times.
whats more interesting is the Murano has a CVT and damn near the same hp and torque as my Pilot and the pilot is an 03 with a 4 speed auto. would have thought a Murano would have run a faster 1/4 with that setup.
oh well it was fun to see the guy pissed that he lost.

 

ur pilot is a 5 spd auto, check ur tranny coz they are easy to fail

 

 

no my pilot is a 4 speed auto the 5 speed didnt come out till 05 and we already had the tranny looked at and they said it didnt need anything.

 

why race suv.. @_@......... i never race suv.. cause if i win.. our car LOOKS sporty.. if i win. people say of course you a sport car wins.. if i loose... ill forever bear the name loosing to suv.. unless i was racing those super high end ones @@

 

The 2003 had the 5-speed automatic. On edmunds.com it is listed used as a 5-speed automatic. Maybe you should read your owners manual.
