Me vs. FIERO

pontiac fiero in good condition. i pull up to the right of him in a lane that will end in a block. he revs his engine so i race him off the light. suprisingly he is quick but my 7400 redline pulls be ahead. then i slip it into 2nd, pull clutch and it GRINDS to shit and pops out of gear... i rev it back to the good power spot for 2nd, and slam it into 2nd forcefully. sounds like shit but stays. and i pull in behind the fiero. the bastard was happy.. i was pissed about it
since i got the short shifter in, sometimes 2nd fucks up.

the funniest fiero that i have seen is one with the viper body panels... i am embarrased to even look at it, I can't imagine somebody actually drives it.

alright this is kiling me. i was pickin up a girl, and my buddies pull up to the lights in a corsica. 4 people shoved in that old car, he wants to race cuz hes a goof. i let him go, then blast off in 1st, already beside him. pull back into second and GRIND and crazy fucking noises and the gear shoots itself out of 2nd into neutral. and HE BEATS ME. bastards.
i remember installed the short shifter and i think the cable has something to do with it now that ive altered the shaft length...

...or perhaps readjust your shift timing.

Sounds to me like you're not getting the car all the way into gear before releasing the clutch, which will pop it back out into neutral.

But seriously, WTF are you doing racing a Corsica? You shoulda just told your friend that the gas you'd waste racing him is worth more than that car.

i need to be comforted, not laughed at...
racing the corsica was just a must. its my goofy friend, and i dont mind burning gas sometimes.
when i shift, i had the clutch tthe the floor and i was forcing it in gear. thats why i think its just not moving properly in the box and the cables that the shifting shaft is connected to arent getting pulled all the way to initiate the gear.

Okay.. you can pick up a excellent condition fiero for around 3 grand, you dump 4-5 grand into a LS1/LT1 swap and you have a mid 4 second low 12 quarter mid engined sports car..

To each his own but I can think of other things I'd rather drop that money into.

Please tell us there is no "Hundai Excel story". Please. If that ever happend to me (and it hasn't) I'd look around to see if anyone else saw me, and if not, I'd never EVER mention it again.

So I pull up next to this Yugo, and he revvs me so I know its on like donkey kong. So when the light turns green, I hit it and...CRAP IM STILL IN NEUTRAL! Pegged the limiter, engine blows, Yugo drives off into the sun, basking in its total domination.

Show me some love...

geez I crack myself up...

And then the Yugo board gets lit up with "I owned a TSX" threads.
