Exclamation I lost

I was eaten by a 2006 BMW 325I yesterday by 1 car length.

it only has 15 extra horses and the BMW is a little heavier.

I really feel down man.

Hmmm... if you're looking for a racing sedan, there are better choices.

Only losing by 1 car length to car with a 25% bigger engine isn't so bad if you ask me.

There is not much that an AT TSX can beat, this is not a race car. Even the MT is no rocket.

Don't feel bad.....
I was stupid enough to race a XJ6 Jag..... on the 15 coming down from Victorville.
He beat the crap out of me at a straight away.....
My engine was screaming at 120mph he passed me with no problem at all.....
HOWEVER!!!!!!! I beat them in turns or passing over cars....
Maybe the guy is just too scared to do it....
who knows..... the lesson is.. you can't beat a Jag..... (the XJ series that is)

AT is good for the initial take off, but after 20mph, the MT's efficiency shows. And against an E30 325i, you'll need every bit of that 200hp to beat the 3.0L engine. Street racing is illegal. Street racing while on the phone is stupid.

I think i raced one of those!.. Does it look simular to the Ventage DB7?? It has a V8 right? I raced one before..i dont remember if i was stock or not, maybe i had on my intake..but he couldnt pass me..lol He followed me off the highway and pulled up next to me and told me that i was pretty fast..and to try him now..but i just let him go because from a stop i knew he'd beat me.. I saw him again a few days after that at an intersection and he looked at me in my car and just smiled.. It was an auto i believe.. not saying im faster but he couldnt pass me..i think we went up to about 120.. around there..but my exit was near so i turned off..i thought he was gonna do the fly by but he followed me.. i was thinking..

I run with a 2006 325 mt and he see my license plate all time ....
At the top end I was 3 cars away until I hit the mph limiter.
Running with the altimas se v6; they run close in my backup until I shift to fith gear.
I believe our cars has a lot of potencial
better yet, humilliation of bigger engines car with a 4cyl car is fun

My two cents
Get HONDATA, CAI and Header.

Outran an '06 325i on the on-ramp to I35 three days ago. He failed to yield and I decided, screw him, he thought now that he's in his new Bimmer he could just accelerate and jump ahead of me before his lane ended. Wrong, I was in 2nd and kind of saw it coming -- at least hoped -- so I jumped on it. Fairly easily pulled ahead of him, then he ran out of room (there wasn't anyone behind me or I'd have let the jerk go in the first place) and jumped behind me. I slowed back down to "normal" speed to get onto the highway (which was mostly empty) but didn't let him pass me still on the entrance ramp. He was tailing me, clearly pissed. As soon as we were on the highway, he did jump around to my right to pass me. I stayed in my lane but as soon as he was next to me I downshifted to 3rd (at about 68 mph), hammered it, started to pull away in 3rd and pulled away from him again after shifting into 4th. He was DEFINITELY on the gas. I think his was an auto, hard to tell.

Anyway, traffic was light and I don't normally do that but he just looked like such an asshole and was driving like he owned the road. So I spanked him. It was great! Especially since his car was new (still had temp tags).

Hate to put a damper on all this, but street racing........

Plus, the TSX is no race car, c'mon folks. Do you really feel like a man when you beat a 4 cyl Ford Taurus in a drag race?

And why is it always AT drivers telling race stories.

I do all I can to avoid racing or even getting into situations described by Peter above in my AT.

I'll be the first to admit, I go back and forth. I'd say 80% of the time I'm just mild-mannered and drive along. The other 20% of the time I have a little devil in me that wants to go. My rules are I never tailgate, I always signal, and I'm always courteous if other people are the same. But I do speed, and I will do what I did on that entrance ramp. I should know better, I'm 38 years old.

It must be the teenager in me, every once in a while I just want to go and the TSX is so fun to do it in. What I should do is get into autocross, get it out of my system. That's the plan for next season. I know better than to screw around on public roads.

eh..of course our tsx will loose to 06 325.. if u have the older tsx 200 hp. .. and convert their hp rating system. they have more than 15 advantage over us.. and 325 is now a 3.0 liter, not 2.5 anymore.. that slight weight dont really matter that much.. so if you only loose by 1 car length and 2.4 vs 3.0 liter bimmer? i say you did damn good. he probably had a bad day

There are times that call for lesson teaching like you described. I just try to avoid such instances as I know I'll probly lose driving an AT. Just seems most AT owners don't realize how slow their cars are.

The E90 325i is a quick car. It makes significantly more power right out of the box...

I wouldn't loose any sleep over the IS 250. It is slower than the previous years TSX so the 06 should kill it.
I really looked close at the IS 250 but the handling is dissapointing, shifter feels like crap compared to Hondas/Acuras.
