All i got to say is , Your an idiot
I think that's a little extreme. The only 'idiotic' thing NJtsx did was try to race with 300+ pounds of extra weight in his car. The point of this thread is not that the TSX is slow, or luxury car owners are better people than sport compact drivers, its this:

If you severely handicap yourself in any competition against an evenly matched opponent, expect to lose.

Here are Specs from car and driver

SVT:
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....rticle_id=3951

For SVT 0-60 7.8 sec.

TSX:
http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=2

For TSX 0-60 7.2 sec. (Look about middle of page)

I am going to believe Car & Driver over anyone any day.

Specs don't lie PEOPLE DO

that doesnt mean much at all, the focus bit they didnt even mention if they timed that or estimated and when it was done. and TSX times have HUGE variations from different mags... Specs don't lie but also don't mean anything because anything can happen on the streets.

MOST TSX 0-60 times have been 7.8 to 8.1. The quickest time was the 7.2 that you quoted. We've also seen 7.1 sec times for the SVT and never slower than 7.8. So what on gods earth are you talking about exactly?

Do some research before calling people morons.

Oh and my point maybe if you read the guys origonal thread you would see that he said he raced him twice and the second time he gave him a head start and still kicked his ass. He also said that the guy had basicly no mods. I'm saying either the guy is lying or he just doesnt know how to drive his car yet. And yes I hate morons.

I don't trust most magazines or estimates from them. The variations from one publication to another annoys me enough to put those numbers as references and not as hard facts.

Junkster, who depends on Car magazine from England for most of his information.

perhaps you are the moron? no way the TSX is a sec quicker...i would call them even from 0-60 and you didnt give proof, you took the best time for TSX and Worse time for a SVT focus..... but he had 2 passengers...assume they weight 150 each..that is 300lb already, assume both drivers are same weight and cancel each other out..you have a 3500lb(3200curb +300 of 2 passengers) tsx vs a 2750lb SVT focus... there is more than a 20% weight difference... 750lb is a huge difference for any car let alone a 4banger with only 170 torque and 200hp.... and there is still the skill of the driver to take into account as well and launch. but i don't really understand why you think he would lie about losing so badly to a focus

People try to make themselves feel important maybe? I have no idea. Anyways I would agree they would be about even. I'm not saying that the TSX is really any faster, read the VERY first post maybe you'll understand.

About this moron stuff..... IMHO usually the most moronic possible thing is to call someone else a moron.

I try to take care of this by calling myself a moron. I figure that pretty well covers it.

I thought you were done here? And actually im sure if you looked online you could find that the emitions for the USA and Canada are different. YOu know what happens when they're different? It slightly changes the car performance. Anyways I showed you links to the mag. I expect for you to do the same and if you great. I'm not proving that the TSX is really any faster but, about the same. If you are wondering what my point is read my other post on this thread you'll understand. Wow. I've last been here at 4:00AM this morning and 2 pages have added with illmeltxwithyou tangling up with just about anybody, including Larchmont. HEY, DON'T YOU TOUCH LARCH!!

Now, you also say emissions are different between Canada and US on the TSX. As far as I know, this is BS. And I don't have to prove it to you, you prove what you just wrote with a good reference.

Until then, :noob:

(this has got to be my favorite smilie, hehe)

Gilbo said it. 750 lbs is the difference. If you want to race something you feel like might be close, make sure its the other guy with the disadvantage and then you'll feel good about racing and winning ( if you figure your driving skills are there). Nobody like's losing, but make sure you pick a fair fight. Personally if I had 2 passengers in my TSX I would have played with the kid in the SVT, but not have taken the challenge.

I have a punk kid in a Ford Probe GT with an exhaust, 18" wheels and ?? other mods in my neighborhood and he's always looking to race. I blew him away once, but have seen him eye me up on a couple other occasions when I had passengers in the car. I ignore him now, he's pissed cuz all I do now is smile and wave.

Noobs :shakehd:

Does anyone else here disagree with the numbers I've posted?

I doubt anyone will, why because they've been here a while and have seen all these numbers before, its really no secret.

But since you insist (I can't believe I wasted my time on this Noob) Here are some links.

Here's the link to a thread from this site discussing the MT article. I actually scanned the article in for the site so you can see the times.

http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=373&highlight=Motortren d

Here's the link to Edmunds. You'll see the 8.3

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2004/acur...alpage=page001

Here's the thread showing the Automobile mag scan. Take a look at the 8.1
http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...&threadid=2402

Here's the msn.ca review. You'll have to read the article to find the times.

http://autos.en.msn.ca/vip/job.aspx?...=10104&src=vip

And finally here's the Sport Compact Car Test thread, again with a scan of the numbers.

http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/show...rt+Compact+Car

While I agree that US and Candian emissions may vary, I'm sure Honda designed the TSX and pratically all of its others vehicles to be emissions compliant in the US AND Canada, this keep costs down.

Now :noob:

Does anyone else here disagree with the numbers I've posted?

I doubt anyone will, why because they've been here a while and have seen all these numbers before, its really no secret.

But since you insist (I can't believe I wasted my time on this Noob) Here are some links.

Here's the link to a thread from this site discussing the MT article. I actually scanned the article in for the site so you can see the times.

Here's the link to Edmunds. You'll see the 8.3

Here's the thread showing the Automobile mag scan. Take a look at the 8.1

Here's the msn.ca review. You'll have to read the article to find the times.

And finally here's the Sport Compact Car Test thread, again with a scan of the numbers.

While I agree that US and Candian emissions may vary, I'm sure Honda designed the TSX and pratically all of its others vehicles to be emissions compliant in the US AND Canada, this keep costs down.

Now :noob:

Thanks sauce, you're too kind.

Actually I didn't have a problem about him, I just thought he'd be more effective if he expressed himself a little differently.

(Well, OK, if you wanna know the truth, I just felt slighted that he didn't call ME a moron.)

You're pre-moronizing yourself, eh?

What's interesting is that "pre-owned" probably has a totally different meaning in the context of Internet boards.
