"beat" in what standards? 0-60? quartermile? top speed?

any car can be equipped with aftermarket forced induction... but the tsx, being a 2.4 liter I4, will not have the potential of the 6 cylinder engines you have mentioned above

You can supercharge a TSX and have smiliar acceleration performance with the cars mentioned above, but top end =

so "evo-to-tsx" you don't think that the tsx With the Comptech Supercharger can beat a TL?> what on earth made you go form an Evo- to a TSX in the first place

I had my Evo for a year and it was stolen and stripped... sad story
Fortunately because of the Evo's high resale value, my insurance covered it in full
Therefore I was able to shop for another car within the price range, and I've found the TSX... Sure, I miss the Evo's raw performance, but right now I am in love with the TSX's comfort, civilization, features, fuel economy, etc

As for the question regarding the comptech supercharged tsx "beating" a stock TL, it'll be a close call... a supercharged tsx will have less hp than a bone stock TL, but it is also a couple hundred pounds lighter than the TL... but the point I was trying to make was that comptech also makes a supercharger for the TL... and V6 + supercharger > I4 + supercharger

tsx can win... by gas mileage , or if you go really crazy... friggin intercool it, upgrade the internals, and boost the hell outta it. but that is highly unlikely.

^^Um, if I remember, the 325i has about 215 HP, so yes, I'd guess a SC and reflashed TSX could beat it in a drag race, though why you'd want to do it I don't know. The 325i ain't no burner.

A stock TSX is what? About 205hp? I don't know the exact dyno number but I am asuming the actual whp is about 175hp. With the Comptech S/C (50hp), you're looking at 225hp.

A stock TL is 270hp or 258hp (SAE rated), many of the TL vehicles are dyno'd at 238hp or 239hp.

Given those numbers and TSX being a bit lighter, it's a close race. In some aspects, I would give the number to the TSX. It really depends on the driver, now if the TL has other modifications such as "crank pulley, pro-cats, intake, exhaust). It'll be a bit tougher for the S/C'd TSX to compete (one member from the 3G-TL forum with all of those following modifcations dyno'd at 242whp)

It'll be a good race to see Is there any S/C'd TSX around this froum? I'd like to see some pictures and stats.
(first time in TSX section btw)

The supercharged TSX would have slightly more crank hp and tq than a stock TL, it weighs less, and I think it's geared lower. That leads me to believe that a supercharged TSX would out-accelerate a stock TL from a standstill, given equivalent drivers. The TSX's top speed wouldn't change as it is electronically governed.

This is relevant to me since a s/c TSX costs about the same as a TL, gives up very little in the way of creature comfort, and is a truer "sport sedan" with similar acceleration performance. My .

I'm putting my money on the SC'd TSX:

From sho-one's thread showing his dyno if his 6MT TSX.

A buddy of mine with a supercharged 5AT TSX raced his friend in his 05 TL from a standstill and beat him by a lot. The TL had a little less than half a car length lead in first gear and once he hit 2nd, he pulled ahead and pulled away from there.

I don't know about TL, but with SC and other mods your can definetely beat 325i or even 330i but still not sure for m3. G35 or 350z standard you could beat them if you put SC and mods your trans LSD, clutch, flywheel. About top speed I would say g35 or nissan 350z pretty crazy, I tried my friend car 350z stock reach 260 km/h
I tried my accord euro with mods but without any FI reach top speed 255 km/h
there is abit of comparison of it

Coming from a 2nd gen TL-S, which is similar to a 3rd gen TL 5AT in terms of performance, I would say a S/C TSX will be a close race against the TL. That guy who got 244whp, I think he has other mods too (I/H/E/ECU). Those bolt ons alone should worth about 20whp I guess? So the SC alone would yield about 220-225whp.

i read somewhere on the boards that for every 100 pounds the car weighs less, you gain .1 second in the quarter mile. If someone knew the weight of the supercharged TSX, they could see the "paper" figures on how close it would be. I think the TL weights about 3200-3500 Pounds.

TL is around 3500-3600, TSX is around 3200-3400.
