Sorry, but the 06 made some good gains for minimal changes. Race me to find out... but I'll cheat and run you off the road

If I were in Kansas, I would bring on my stock 04 and still kill the 06 AT.

Back from the Dead

We did it again. this time, a little better.

Mine - 04 6mt w/ Injen CAI (full), Comptech Short Shifter (does that make a difference?)
VSA off, A/C off
His - 06 5at w/ Injen CAI (full)
VSA off, A/C off, SS mode

run#1
I got a good jump, took off and he was behind by 50mph (i could see his lights in my rear mirror by 70)

run#2
He got a good jump, but i caught up quick and was ahead a car by 70-75mph

that is 4X in a row, so case closed. 06 AT cannot compete with the 04 MT

I have since installed the DC header - i know it is in my sig, but was not on yet when we ran the horses. I also have the comptech rear sway bar and neuspeed front tie bar, but i dont think that made any difference in the takeoff.

How many miles are on both?

Sounded like fun. I think even if you went from a 15 mph roll (to negate the launching advantage of the 6MT) you still would have won to make it 5-0.

Launching advantage? Maybe I just suck at MT, but I usually get owned by soccer moms in their suvs/vans from a stoplight.

Was just about to say that.

You have an '06 6MT and get owned by soccer moms? I think your theory holds true. You probably do suck at driving.

Come to think of it, the only SUV I've ever had trouble with at a stoplight was a Porsche Cayenne. Then again, I'm not stock.

I would be interested in seeing a race of a stock 04 6MT vs a stock 06 6MT.
I know Hondata has shown us the dynos of the differrences, but it still would be cool to see how what that extra power translate to on the street.

San-ant, You know anyone with an 06 6MT?

by the way SS shifts way slower than u can with a MT... also Ats have the longer gears... MT can get better launches due to clutch. and um thats about it...

the whole point was to see if the factory "tuning" gains in the 06at was enough to beat an 04mt. we know all that other stuff

Jeff Palmer of TOV reviewed the 2006 TSX AT. http://motegi.vtec.net/articles/view...&page_number=4

His results

. 5AT (Full Auto) 5AT (Sportshift)
0-60ft 2.80 sec 2.80 sec
0-60mph 8.7 sec 7.7 sec
1/4 mile@mph 16.9@90mph 15.8@93mph

You just need to compare those numbers to what the 04MT was tested at.

I think you are just too good for the other driver, he won't have a chance. Besides, 6MT>5AT
