Someone on Edm....com is reporting Acura has posted an official TSB. The guys at my dealer said last week that they were waiting for something to come out and were advising people to wait on trying to fix it because they assumed it would be soon.

We don't have access to the TSBs anymore, do we?

these windshield or dashboard rattles did drive me crazy for 6 month, but all rattles completely disappeared after 6,000 miles by itself, so that since August my TSX is a completely rattles free and I hope it will keep this way.
It is 28 degrees and so far no rattles at all.
In the summer time as soon as temperature raised over 75 degrees, all rattles disappeared, and then always were back at night, I would suspect that some glue just took to long to dry.

-Noise on my car seems to happens when temp is between 40-55 degrees and dry. Over 55, no noise, under 40 degrees, no noise. Probably has to deal with the contracting of the plastic Getting my parts replaced Tuesday.

So my car was dropped off last Tuesday and it it still at the dealer. The dealer just told me that the glue needs to sit for 48 hours, so my car is hostage until Monday. I have the loaner TSX, so I am ok. This is the first offical fix that my dealer is doing.

Wow, dropped off Tuesday and they want it to sit until Monday. When I had mine windshield and clips replaced, they just wanted it to sit in their shop overnite in a heated area and was ready for me to pick up the following morning.

Had this done a good month ago and haven't had the noise since!

Im not sure if the dealers are on the same page of what the fix is. But that's awesome that yours is fixed.

Well, 45 degrees, dry and quiet so far

I was concentrating on the noise so much that I drive half way home in the dark without turning on my headlights. Some guy behind me almost rear-ended me. I was about to yell at him until I realized my lights were off. Then I said, nice reflexes dude

My dealer said that there is a Service Bulletin. They kept the car for four days and based on the list of parts on the work order it appears they have redone the driver side outside windshield molding. The noises seems to have gone for now - it is has been unseasonably warm past few days - whther it is real fix will know perhaps starting this weekend whe it is supposed to get real cold. The car seems to be also have less wind noise now. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I finally brought my 2004 TSX in for the Windshield noise problem about 2 weeks ago. I had all the classic symptoms since the weather turned cold in mid October. I asked the dealer if they were aware of the problem and they said they weren't so I gave them a link to this thread and brought a printout with me when I dropped off the car.

When I picked up the car they said they had pushed down real hard on the cowl and A pillar moldings (as a few people have recommended in this thread) and heard some things snap into place. I guess they're stronger than me (or less afraid to break something) because I had tried that myself and it didn't help.

The dealer said that if the noise came back I should bring it in again and they would look into replacing the clips, windshied, etc. It's been 2 weeks with plenty of cold, dry weather and the noise has not come back, so it looks like I'm cured.

Thanks to everyone, especially wsklar , who helped make this possible by contributing to this thread.

Yeah, my 05 has this too, are they squeezing it at the bottom of the A pillar right above the dash?

Unhappy The dreaded windshield crackling noise on 06's

I have owned a 06 Black/Parchment 5AT Navi TSX for four days now...and the much talked about crackling noise from the passenger A pillar/Windshield area has shown up. It's very loud when the vehicle goes over bumps or worse, manhole covers on the street. It almost feels like the windsheild will crack under the stress. Pretty much the description provided by other members, @ the link below, applies to my case as well.

Whiskers' "Windshield Noise FAQ": https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20851

Based on the threads I read on this site, I thought acura came out with a fix for this in 04 and so I expected it to be fixed for the 06 models at the very least. I guess not! I was wondering is any of the other 06 owners have experienced this problem. I am planning on visiting my dealer about this tomorrow and I'll post an update, in case anyone else has this problem on their 4 day old car!

Finally, as a new member, I just want to thank everyone for maintaining and contributing to this very helpful website!

i had the same problem, the loud creaking/cracking when going over bumps, especially if the car's body would torque. the dealer replaced clips, re-glued the moldings, blah blahbalh they didn't know what the hell they were doing. they claimed the sound was gone, but of course, i hit a bump before i got out of the parking lot and i heard the noise.

what i did was buy a can of silicone spray that was non-corrosive to rubber, took the little straw attachment thingy, and sprayed it underneath the rubber windshield molding starting from the front left corner and going as far up the windshield as possible. then i sprayed it from the front left corner to as far to the center of the car as possible.

guess what? the sound is GONE. was it the windshield "cracking" under "stress" or something? no way. when did i do it? back in october. has the noise come back? nope. the cracking, it seems, was the rubber grip kind of "shifting" when i hit bumps, especially if the bump was only on one side of the car. that would also explain why it wouldn't make a noise when it was raining.

i hope that helps! the dealer messed around with my car, dirtied up my steering wheel and seat, and still couldn't fix it. for this type of stuff, DIY works every time.

yup. DIY, if possible, is the way to go, especially for concerns like squeaks/rattles...

I found that if I grasped (apply pressure) onto the steering wheel (on the sides of the hub), the noise goes away. I took the car to the dealer, but could not replicate it. Waiting for it to come back... it definitely sounds like a windshield noise, but it's actually coming from the steering wheel in my car.

My dealer claims that this is the FIRST time they've hear of this. They couldn't be lying to me, could they? Dealers don't lie, do they?

Add me to the list of "it went away by itself." Took delivery of my '05 in late Feb 2005. When the weather turned cool, the rattle appeared. Best description is that it sounded like it was raining/sleeting on the windshield. Cold weather and rough roads/bumps made it worse. After 2-3 months, it's gone - haven't noticed it since in any kind of weather. Really odd.

Throw me on this list too I just heard it yesterday, and it's only in the morning though. The weather is warmer now when I head home from work.

I called a dealership, and they want to go on a diagnostic run w/ me. I'm just afraid that I won't be able to duplicate the sound. We'll see when I go in in a few weeks.
