Windshield Bottom Moulding – Service Manual Question

It has been posted a few times that the black piece of plastic on the bottom of the windshield may be causing some of the rattles, I was just wondering if anyone with a service manual (I know I need to get my own) has an instructions on removing it? with or without pics would be great.

The parts in question are called the "Cowl Cover", located on page 20-121 of the TSX service manual. I did a quick scan, but can't post the graphic here ... I think you'll want the picture since the matching of fastener type to location is useful. Perhaps someone can host the image.

To get you started, here's the text:

1. Remove these items:
Windshield wiper arms (see page 22-213)
Front fender trim, both sides (see page 20-120)

2. Remove the hood rear seal (A) by pulling it out. Using a clip remover, detach the clip (B) from the cowl covers. Take care not to scratch the cowl covers.

Fastener Locations [and quantity] B: Clip,1 C:Clip,8 D:Clip.2

3. Detach the clips (C, D) by carefully pulling the passenger’s cowl cover (E) upward, and release the hook (F) on the passenger’s cowl cover from the driver’s, then remove the cover by releasing the hook (G). Take care not to scratch the body.

4. Disconnect the windshield washer tubes (H).

5. Detach the clips (C, D) by carefully pulling the driver’s cowl cover (I) upward, then remove the cover by releasing the hooks (H). Take care not to scratch the body.

6. Install the covers in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

• Replace any damaged clips.
• Make sure the washer tubes are connected securely.
• Push the clip portions into place securely.

Thanks cdr! I sent you a PM.

Hopefully the dealer will fix it, I think I am going to take it the dealer this weekend so they can do my free oil change.
