Whining from Power Steeing Pump

Just checking to see if anyone has had issues with whining from the PSP. The whining is not constant. Only after several turns. The levels look good both upper and lower.

How many miles on the vehicle, and has the original fluid ever been changed?
If so, was Honda fluid used?

It's an '04 with 45k. I've never changed the fluid or added any into the reservoir.

I guess it's still under warrantee then, so let the dealer repair or replace the pump. Else replace the fluid yourself using fluid suitable for Honda. Caution: I bought some Valvoline PS fluid and it specifically stated "not for use in Honda vehicles".

I've had the P.S.P. fail on me once... it failed while I was driving.. at first the car wouldn't return to straight position without manual steering wheel input, and then after it just refused to turn left. Replaced under warranty though.

Called up the dealer and they told me I had to september for the warranty. I thought it expired already. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully the pump will last until June 2nd. They're also supposed to see what's rattling when I idle in drive.
